Still need 20 wickets and when you have to do this in maybe less than 2 days with the weather coming - not an easy feat.

I wouldn't say Broad has that much left in his career. Having started out as someone who could well and truly hold the bat to someone who wouldn't even fit into the shoes of Glenn McGarth when it comes to courage when batting, he is only a slim replica of his former self. And if you aren't going to try with the bat, you definitely have to try with the ball and as Warney picked up on, he can't even do that.

but Aus only need 10

Unless we're assuming best part of 2 days being washed out then 400 isn't enough.

Last ashes test match where a team scores more than 400 in the first innings batting first but loses the test match?

What about the one where we declared at 500 odd in 2006?

Typical great call by Bundy. You guys really need to get Hanscombe back in the team and get back to only three seamers.

What is Mitch Marsh doing? If you don't think you inside edged that, you don't review it. Selfish play - not that it really matters.

Yeah - how about you make a prediction once in awhile and see how that comes off.

Australia just need to swing the bat now - no point the tail enders looking to stick around as they will have a bit of bowling to do.

Lol Australia there - clearly the double play should have got Paine out.

Anyone else think that if Root loses this series 5-0 or 4-0 that he should relinquish the captaincy to Bairstow? Clearly doesn't look up for the job - I just don't think he has that toughness about him. Something that Bairstow definitely has given his upbringing (oh and I note that Ballance is his captain for Yorkshire but he shouldn't be coming into the team just because he is a more accomplished captain than Bairstow or Root but for his batting alone).

No thoughts on the captaincy but England's team isn't great, their star all rounder chinned someone on a night out and thus isn't eligible and their two best batsmen have laid eggs. You can argue Root's egg laying is down to the captaincy but the odds were always against England.
