LOL

Anyway, as mentioned the World Twenty20 starts in just under 24hrs

GROUPS

GROUP A
England
India
Afghanistan

GROUP B
Australia
West Indies
Ireland

GROUP C
Sri Lanka
Pakistan
Zimbabwe

GROUP D
New Zealand
South Africa
Bangladesh

Top two from each group make the second stage, which is two pools of 4 followed by semifinals and a final.

This tournament tilts me for two reasons

1) Why doesnt the World Cup and WorldT20 change formats. Twenty20 is far more suited to a large group stage with a higher amount of variance within individual games. Also, you are going to get a lot more people going to games of 20/20 then normal ODIs in a vacuum. The lesser nations such as Canada, Kenya etc... have a far better shot at T20s then full ODIs where they are almost always going to go down by 200 runs+ where they have literally zero shot of chasing some massive scores put on by the better teams?

2) Why the hell can't Australia host a single ****ing international tournament? The last tournament (full aged) that we held was the World Cup in 1992, when I was 3 years old. Since then, not a single tournament has been held in the country.

Since then there has been 5 world cups, a plethora of World T20's, the ICC Champions Trophy (lol that tournament) and not one has been held here.

Yeah, I mad

-------------------------

In before one of the "big" teams drop one of their preliminary matches to one of the bad sides, are eliminated before the knockout stage and the entire tournament is overhauled for the next editions, incidently both to be held on the sub-continent again.

Knowing Australia, it will probably be us, even though it really isnt an upset since Ireland are higher on the rankings then we are ldo...

Next world cup is in Australia, and the next t20 after that.

I wanted us to do a draft for the world cup, but completely forgot about it.

Also WI has to be up there in the favourites (top 4) if Gayle is in any kind of form.

However, after watching a mate of mine lose three teeth top edging a spinner into his own mouth I from then on always wore a helmet becuase I liked my face in its current configuration.

I had a helmet but never wore one, that thing gets claustrophobic with the grill on. Plus lol indian fast bowlers, and more lol Indian heat.

As it is one of us used to collapse in a weekend game every month.

Afghanistan going to fall about 20 runs short, needing 35 off two overs vs India.

Would love to see them roll England and make the second group stage.

Akram and Pietersen doing studio commentary. Quite a duo.

They offered him a joke of a 4 month contract which featured:

1. Waiver of any future legal rights
2. No television commentary during ICC t20
3. A visit to a training camp in dubai to bond with the players ahead of the tour to india
4. No tour to India
5. No guarantee of extension.

And they wonder why he didn't sign it.

I mean he's obviously made mistakes through this fiasco, but I doubt a player like him to take that offer over just going free agent like Gayle and making 2 mil a year playing for 3 months a year.

Not surprised Brendon McCullum is the first player to make 2 international T20 centuries. Such a destructive T20 batsman.

I'm liking what these Afghani bowlers have to dish out, both against India and here.

If David Lloyd says "WALLOP!" one more ****ing time I will start muting the commentary whenever he comes on. He can be funny at times during tests but he is like fingernails on chalkboard when commentating on T20 matches.

Did Ross Taylor die between innings? What's the theory of sending the rabbits in before him? And why McCullum doesn't open is beyond me.

I strongly believe the best batsmen should bat at 1-3. I think India waste Dhoni often by having him bat at 6 in T20. McCullum bats at 3 in tests fwiw.

Totally agree. No point having a decent batsman coming in past number 5 in t20s.

Lol @ india opening with pathan.

That pietersen guy mightve come in handy right about now.

Also why does Bell not feature in t20s, after pietersen he's looked England's best player vs spin to me.
