News Roundup:
- if the Islanders didn't have bad luck, they wouldn't have any luck at all. the 12th pick in the 2009 Draft D Calvin de Haan has suffered his 3rd shoulder injury in 3 years and is done for the season. all of that is very not good for them, as chronic shoulder problems always seem to persist.
- the Canucks 2012 1st rounder Brendan Gaunce also separated his shoulder and is out for 3-6 weeks, hopefully it's not too serious.
- Sergei Kostitsyn claims he was misquoted, of course
- Plekanec is feeling the heat:
“When you don’t score for two games, it’s in the papers,” said Plekanec. “Every team basically we play against, if they beat us it’s like they won the Olympics or Stanley Cup almost.”
With teammates like team owner Jaromir Jagr, Tomas Kaberle, Jiri Tlusty, and Marek Zidlicky you can understand why Kladno fans would be so intently focused on how the team is doing. With the team in fifth place right now, you can imagine the press is starting to get a bit grumpy.
- Gilbert Brule was cut by the Swiss team he was playing for, coached by Marc Crawford. he had 0g/6a in 14 games.
- Evander Kane next? 0pts and -4 in 6gp in the KHL, just picked up a 1 game suspension for a head hit. oh and his coach said that Kane is out of shape.
- Tuukka Rask suffered a groin injury, no word yet on the severity.
- Patty O'Kane signs with a Swiss league team
- David Krejci surely the next to claim he was misquoted:
“We want to play, we’re the ones who are doing the show in the NHL, but Bettman thinks it makes him. It is unfortunate that the NHL have such a guy. It’s a shame for the entire hockey world. Treats us like animals.”
