To be fair, Harper has been getting blood treatments and drinking raw milk. I doubt he's thinking straight right now.

Brother’s wife, or wife’s sister, seems like a crucial detail.

Term should just be wife/husband in-law when it is someone married to a sibling.

I don't really care about people's (extra)marital affairs. Not sure why others care since it really isn't anyone's business and has no impact on anyone's lives outside of the people involved and their families. The nepotism or improprieties when actually doing business is the way bigger crime.

I was a huge Braves at the time, and Andruw was the most hyped Braves prospect that I had ever seen make the majors. When he hit those two homers, I honestly thought he might end up being one of the all-time greats. He obviously had a great career, but he was never in the discussion as one of the best players in the league, and with the exception of that one season in which he binked 51 HRs, he wasn't even in the discussion for a single season MVP award.

It's weird to say that a HOF player had a disappointing career, but compared to my expectations when he arrived, I was a little disappointed.

I remember being super excited for the Yankees to finally (hey I was 13) make the World Series. Then game 1 got rained out and it seemed like an eternity waiting for the next night. And then when Jones hit 2 homers and the Braves demolished the Yankees it felt like a ruined Christmas.

At age 29, Jones had 342 home runs and 9 gold gloves and was coming off 92 home runs in 2 years. To only have 92 home runs in his 30's is a massive underachievement. And with no major injuries either. He just got fat and lazy it seems.

Makes you kind of respect people who do roids in their 30s and incorporate salads into their diet.

I've never had any issue with the players who did steroids prior to league testing. When the league wasn't testing, they were basically signalling that they were okay with it. To witch hunt those players afterwards has always been absurd.

As I recall from living in Atlanta at the time, he was truly a pioneer in the early Instagram days of “sliding into the DM’s.”

Once he was freshly retired, and still relevant, he’d follow local models, thirst traps, and club promoters in the ATL area. With, apparently, varying degrees of success.

A legend before his time.

Chipper was probably in the same boat. He divorced his first wife after having an affair with a local Hooters waitress. And after he retired, he left his second wife for a Playboy model.

Ah, the old Tiger Woods move. I'd say he's made the right choice. Legend.

I can't overstate the number of Southern baseball players I knew as a teenager who more or less had exactly the same personality as Chipper. He represents an archetype that is very familiar to me.

With the ABS counting a pitch as a strike if "any" part of the ball touches the zone, won't this lead to umpires calling more strikes on close pitches, thus giving pitchers and advantage??

I mean umpires are going to try to adjust ......... It would seem that on borderline pitches leaning towards a strike call would become a natural response.
