I have friends who favorite players are still Juan Samuel and Von Hayes. Oddly enough, I have both of their autographs from Clearwater.

1. Shohei Ohtani -- 113 in 2024, which I believe is the fifth highest single season total since WWII.

2. Ronald Acuna -- 114 in 2023.

3. Rickey Henderson -- seven times between 1980 and 1990.

4. Tim Raines --101 in 1983.

5. Lou Brock -- 121 in 1974

6. Vince Coleman -- three consecutive seasons from 1985 to 1987

7. Jose Reyes -- 90 exactly in 2007

8. Marquis Grisson -- 92 in 1992

9. Eric the Red -- 87 in 1986

10. Maury Wills -- 110 in 1962

11. Elly De La Cruz -- 92 in 2024

12. Joe Morgan -- 26 and 67 in 1973

Two to go. Carnivore is correct that both are rabbits. I thought Juan Samuel had done it but I double checked and he topped out at 87. There are two more. One was a Pirate. The other was the guy who went to prison before playing in the MLB.

(In other words, if the player's best season was 60 HRs, that player had no other season with as many as 35 HRs.)

Who are these players?

Those three are correct. There is one more. And he had the biggest gap of all time as far as I can discern.

Oh I looked up Joe Morgan and saw his 27/60 year but missed the 26/67 year.

Close is Barry Bonds. Who has a 24 gap.

My guess would be that it's someone recent like a Cal Raleigh who will probably exit the list.

I miscounted. There are only fourteen, so four to go. One is a first-ballot Hall of Famer, one is active, one did it in his rookie year and didn't win ROY, and the last player dropped out of high school and served several years in prison before being signed to a professional contract.
He still graduated.

Spoiler:
But from the school of hard knocks.

I really gotta start looking back at what's already been guessed. It's embarrassing at this point.

I ****ed up also. I thought Bonds had a 27 HR gap.

I'm making too many mistakes.

The other two names on the HR+SB list are Omar Moreno and Ron Leflore.

Maris is close but I think the list is closed. I think his gap is 22 (61/39)

Moreno was 3rd in steals in 1980 with 96.

Leflore had 97 in 139 games and a much better percentage.

Henderson had 100.

What did these guys do?

Crawford had a ton of talent and then something happened.

Juan Pierre got a lot of hits for the talent he had.

Pissed ok was here and then he wasn't. Thanks auto correct.

I had very good tickets many years ago in the old Shea stadium, right by the visitor's on deck circle, and I can confirm that Jim Thome is a much larger human than he appeared to be on TV. Big shoulders, big forearms, big hands. Just a ****ing big guy.

prince fielder is a surprisingly small man - always just assumed because of his girth and power that he was a big boy, he's not
