Honestly, I haven’t even paid attention. I’d be thrilled with a decent O lineman though.

They obviously think they can spend the $20mil better elsewhere. Still need a LT, back-up RB, potentially another WR and want to re-sign Mike Danna.

I guess they might have rescinded the tag if nobody was willing to trade for Sneed? Neither he nor the team ever wanted for him to play on the tag. Chiefs don't have $20mil for a CB.

The microsoft AI can be fun sometimes, and sometimes its garbage. I heard a guy speaking on it recently and he said that these chat bot things can not say "I don't know" So they will just spit out anything at you, could be trash if it doesnt know.

But you guys were talking cowboys draft and I just asked copilot. "recent cowboys drafts" And it just spit out the last three years of everyone picked. That would have taken some time to find a good site, then clicking around to find past years. Copilot was instant, pretty damn good.

Let's ask ChatGPT about that one:

"As an AI language model, I'm designed to provide responses based on the information I've been trained on. If I encounter a question or topic that falls outside my training data or knowledge, I won't be able to provide a confident answer. In such cases, I may indicate that I don't have the information necessary to respond effectively. So, while I can't literally say "I don't know," I can certainly indicate when I'm unable to provide a satisfactory answer. If you have any questions, feel free to ask, and I'll do my best to assist you!"

If you ask Google "Cowboys draft picks 2020" it shows you the draft class without having to click any links. If you ask "cowboys all time draft picks" the first result is this one that shows you every single Cowboys draft pick since 1961: https://www.pro-football-reference.c.../dal/draft.htm

What AI can do for you:
"Write an essay about the Dallas Cowboys draft history and make it sound funky"

Quote:
Title: Groovin' Through the Dallas Cowboys Draft History

Introduction:
Alright, alright, ladies and gents, gather 'round 'cause we're about to take a funky trip through the draft history of America's Team, the Dallas Cowboys! From the swinging sixties to the neon '90s and beyond, the Cowboys have been laying down some serious draft day beats, building a legacy that's as funky as it is legendary.

Boogie Nights with Landry and Schramm:
Let's kick it off with the OGs, Tom Landry and Tex Schramm, two cats who knew how to pick 'em. Back in the day, these groovy gurus set the tone for the Cowboys' draft game, snagging future Hall of Famers like Bob Lilly, Roger Staubach, and Mel Renfro. With these cats leading the charge, the Cowboys were ready to boogie on down to the Super Bowl.

Disco Fever in the '70s Dynasty:
Fast forward to the '70s, and the Cowboys were riding high on disco fever, baby!
(...)
That's actually crazy helpful because not only can you use it to write things like proposals but also make them sound more (or less) formal/serious/friendly or even techie.

My thoughts exactly. I feel like Dak is about due for an injury that costs him 6+ games, and the defense will take at least a small step backward (and wasn't that great anyway) for an easy sub-.500 finish.

Patriots fan here. I am convinced we are going 0-17 this year. This organization is completely clueless without brady to compensate.

Miami trying to sign OBJ

He should be better than whoever they had as WR3 last season. So I don't mind as long as it's a cheap 1 year deal.

I guess he'll have to if he wants to keep playing.

If Hollywood Brown signs for $7mil + up to $4mil in incentives I don't see how anyone would pay OBJ close to what the Ravens paid him last season.

The NFL is considering adopting a kickoff style similar to the one used in the XFL during its 2020 and 2023 seasons. This would require sweeping changes to the NFL's current kickoff format and make the play look much different than it has in past seasons.

NFL owners still have to vote on whether the new kickoff rules will be implemented in 2024. And even if they are, it would only be on a year-long trial basis.
This looks like it is gaining traction. I watched a bunch of XFL games last year and loved it. Something like 85% plus of kickoffs were returned compared to what 10% in the NFL.

Meanwhile the UFL appears to be throwing caution to the wind and just moving the kickoff back to the 20 yard line.

yes, hope the new kickoff rule gets adopted for the upcoming season

also, happy to see that the rules have changed so that a team gets a third challenge if one of the first two is successful

I would like to see the XFL rule 4th and 15 instead of the onside kick adopted.

The current rule is beyond stupid because it means if a team lost it's first challenge they have to consider if it's really worth it to take their second challenge even if they know it's going to be successful.

Really bad is the possible hip tackle ban. I just wana roll this back 15 years. Big hits etc etc. True I'm not worried for these players enough. Was a kid I saw Jim Kelly get completly knocked out cold. He got up and threw a 25 yrd dime for touchdown. Boss. New Nfl kinda sucks. But with this hip junk, you already have the no head shots, no collar pull downs, this hip thing is another. It's getting to be impossible and it's ref city. Kickoff doesn't really bother me.

Even the players were against. Not proper form #51 sorry...15 yrds anda automatic FIRST DOWNNNNNNN

They ruined the pass rush already. a finger can't touch his helmet. God forbid when you are tackling you land on the poor soul. Almost are more afraid your team does get to him, they need to get the refs in the shot so you know if you are screwed.

Well all the media is on fire saying they shouldn't ban. I don't like all these talking heads. I reverse my take. Ban it. Finish your tackle or get flag. Wana drop like dead weight, hit the bricks pal.

The new kickoff rule seems interesting, but I've seen almost not XFL.

I think there should be unlimited challenges until a team losses 2 challenges.

it's a really dangerous tackle and it should be banned. It's not a toughness/hardness thing, it's just that the way this tackle gets executed very often damages knees, hips, ankles of the person getting tackled.

they've banned it in my #1 sport NRL (Australian Rugby League) too just because of the numbers of long injuries that resulted. In fact, I think the NFL used the NRL policies and science to fuel the ban there

re the kickoff changes...it feels like only yesterday they put new rules in place to dissuade teams from returning kicks, for player safety reasons.

IMO, long returns are the most exciting things in the game and I hope we get back to more of them

Which one of these loser teams is going to draft 3rd round talent at best JJ McCarthy? Articles and mock drafts are getting more hilarious by the day.

It's a move used by mostly cheap defensive players to injure expensive skill position players. Banning that is just a smart business decision.

Draftkings has him at -130 to the Vikings and Bo Nix at +100 to Denver.

Harbaugh makes it sound like JJ is a future all pro in hope of someone overpaying the Chargers for the #5 pick.
