Correct me if I'm wrong, but when players had a good combine they would cancel a pro day. So pro days were usually to improve on combine grades or because of injury. I would say Chris Johnson, but I don't think he had a pro day because why would he after his combine. I assume it's a little more complicated with players opting out of the combine.

Ya I guess my understanding is guys who would skip the combine would do a pro day because there were no measurables they needed to partake in or really any resistance to practice throws. Just seems like a copout

they will generally do position drills and interviews but not the spandex Olympics stuff again unless they want to improve on their times

And yeah, other guys who are dinged up/not in best condition at the Combine will go there for interviews only and then run/jump at their pro day

If you played Jan football or had a late season injury and were being judged on your 40 time or whatever for your draft position, it makes sense to give yourself the most time possible to get yourself into shape to perform best

edit...eg

One of the more disappointing developments at the combine: Alabama cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry, a possible first-round selection, discovering he had a Jones fracture in his right foot during medical evaluations. At the time, this raised the question of whether he might slip from the first 32 overall selections.

Just a few weeks later, though, McKinstry not only showed up to 'Bama's pro day, but he ran a 40-yard dash that was clocked as low as 4.47 seconds, according to NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero. McKinstry is scheduled to undergo surgery on the foot this Friday, and he's expected to be fully ready for the start of training camp.

Suddenly, the arrow's pointed back up for one of the better cornerback prospects in the 2024 draft class.

I think pro days were also for players who weren't invited to the combine, but I haven't followed closely in the last few years and don't know if that's still a thing.

Ok I guess there’s a point to the pro day

But I definitely give top qb prospects who skip the combine exactly zero credit for pro day performances. On that I’m confident no good has come

MILF Hunter had an epic pro day for replicating literally what the guy he was drafted to replace did in his

Manziel got drafted 1 in part cuz he wore a helmet during his or something idk

As someone who was always skeptical of Caleb I give him zero points for a pro day performance

Jamarcus Russell purportedly had the best Pro Day performance ever. Throwing 80m passes, throwing one through the goal posts from the 50 while on his knees

By all accounts every scout and every team walked away in awe. There's a small amount about it in this article

Yes, sorry that I knew what you meant... just a joke about Purdy (with some truth)

Is the most famous pro day Kyle Boller?

I remember the 80m passes, but damn throwing through the goal posts from your knees. Slizzurp is a helluva drug.

Pre June 1trade isn't realistic because the Bills can't take a $31mil dead cap hit this season. Post June 1 would mean $9mil dead cap this year and $22mil next year.

Restructuring probably makes much more sense for the Bills. I doubt anyone is really worried over there, he creates drama every single offseason. Would be more of a surprise if he doesn't.

is there any source to the rumour? or is it just the usual nonsense?

more importantly, 9ers shopping Brandon Aiyuk. No surprise but still sad for them. I'm probably in the minority, but if I was them I'd rather keep him than Samuel whose production doesn't quite match the potential and media slurping...albeit he is awesome

Same thing as every offseason. So far he's slash line for getting traded is 1 for many.

I don’t give this much credence. Deegod was supposedly as good as gone with a whole lot of trade rumors when he pulled literally this exact same act and here we are. I can’t tell you how many times he was supposed to be a jet

Niners will extend aiyuk. Just gotta do due diligence if someone is willing to make a godfather offer
