Agree that Fields probably doesn't make a huge difference last season even though I do think he's miles ahead of Wilson as a QB.

Looking at the Jets losses, they lost to: DAL, NE, KC, LAC, LV, BUF, MIA(2X), ATL, CLE

Other than maybe NE, LV, and ATL I'm not sure they win any of the other games with Fields.

Then looking at all of their wins. I don't really see any big statement wins. Week 1 at BUF with Allen throwing 4 picks and the walkoff punt return. The game against the Eagles where Hurts/Sirianni got stupid at the end of the game, and against the Texans where they somehow scored 30 points in the second half and Stroud got knocked out with a concussion.

They could have just easily lost all 3 of those games.

They picked up tyrod taylor so they are out of Fields possible teams.

Even if the Jets win the AFCE and lose in the wild card round with a backup QB, I don't see how that would save Joe Douglas job. He drafted Zach Wilson and at least didn't stop anyone from trading for Rodgers who in that scenario is lost for the season early for the second year in a row. On top of that Douglas contract is up after the 2024 season and the Jets never won more than 7 games in the 5 years under him.
