Harper's swing is impressively violent, but I don't find it to be all that aesthetically pleasing. IMO, the most aesthetically pleasing left-handed swings in my lifetime are Ken Griffey Jr., David Justice, and Rafael Palmeiro, in that order.

Thome also had a great slugger's swing.

It's funny that you mention those two guys in the same post. Their swings could not have been more different. Olerud was like Palmeiro -- that is, a poster child for keeping things simple and quiet.

Strawberry's swing was like Eric Davis's swing -- super entertaining to watch but a lot going on.

All the prettiest swings are left handed. Why?

Because of the camera angle. I've never heard anybody else say this other than myself.

There's nothing inherently different about the way lefties swing. But the camera angle always used is one that captures their swings better.

Among right handers, I will nominate Anthony Rendon, Nelson Cruz, Evan Longoria, and Andres Gallaraga.

This home run from Galarraga is definitely one of the longest HRs ever hit in a major league game.

I'd love to see what hitters swings would look like if the camera angle was the opposite. I think Arod probably had a really nice looking swing.

Manny Ramirez had a great swing.

I think one of the reasons lefties look like a better swing, is people are predominately right handed, so they are pulling with their dominate hand through the zone as opposed to vice versa.
