I'd probably go up to 4/40/20, which might be a slight overpay but such is the nature of the cap and salaries going up and also three-down backs are not that easy to find

In theory you could draft a replacement next year but then that's money you can't use elsewhere (although there will be important places to spend on other extensions soon, like Bosa)

Unrelated: Going to need suzzer in here to explain what the hell is going on in the Tyreek Hill case this week.

Let me know when you're done with these. I took this screenshot yesterday so there's probably about 20 more new Hill threads today.

Cliffs: Hill almost certainly didn't break the kid's arm, chick is pretty crazy, the original audio (which Angie Ricono said the context was "not newsworthy") looks a lot better in context - she was clearly trying to bait him and for the most part he stayed pretty calm. But the lol texts were obviously staged after this blew up. Who the hell knows what else happened between them.

But most importantly - ALL JOURNALISTS AND ANYONE WHO EVER SAID ANYTHING BAD ABOUT TYREEK HILL OR EVEN TRIED TO INJECT A MODICUM OF REALITY TO THE SITUATION ARE SJW SCUM AND NO PUNISHMENT IS TOO SEVERE FOR THEM!!! CP is way beyond assessing blame and into fantasizing about killing journalists. And anyone who ever doubted Hill is the real racist. Good times.

Oh yeah - and they want to PAY THE MAN NOW. Because this is clearly such a stable, totally not dysfunctional situation.

Bottom line is nobody knows what Goodell is going to do with Tyreek. No suspension all the way up to a year suspension wouldn't surprise me.

But this is a gambling website so we all have an opinion. My over/under is 7.5 games

So you pretty much agree with me.

If it's anything more than 2 games, definitely check in on Chiefsplanet because the place will be melting down.

yes in the sense that 7.5 is almost half of a season but...

I would be stunned if there was no suspension, absolutely flabbergasted. He just can't risk the optics in today's world. Even 4 games would invite huge derision from public, press and stakeholders.

6 games is the minimum threshold of games he can ban him for without the entire world criticising him, purely on the basis of the tape but I think 8 is far more likely. I might actually change my o/u to 8.5 tbh

I think the Chargers should probably pay up for Gordon and structure a deal that incentives him for the next two years and gives them cut options thereafter. They’re in a Championship window and the other two backs on the roster are <200lbs

Yeah we just don't know what Tyreek and his lawyers brought to that meeting with the investigators. He does seem relieved since that meeting with investigators posting on Twitter several times after being completely silent for months before. It could be a false sense of relief though lol.

6 seems about right. That seems like the shortest suspension they could issue without an uproar. They want Tyreek on the field. He's one of the most exciting players in the NFL.

We might find out today.

I have no experience with Chiefsplanet other than what I read here, but 7.5 seems like a good O/U for number of meltdowns per year.

KC really doesn't need Hill...Mahomes is the greatest QB of all time and that will be proven over the next few years. He can put up as many points as he wants with any average WR's.

Tyreeks very valuable to KC. His elite speed synergizes excellently with Mahomes arm strength. If he had no off field concern hed be a top 10 offensive non-QB ITL to pair w/ Mahomes. Ya Mahomes gonna be great either way but having Tyreek definitely helps.

Hill and Mahomes fit perfectly together. Hill has 20 receiving TDs in a season upside with Mahomes. Most of Hills TD last year weren't bombs and Mahomes missed him a ton. I know there will be misses every year but you got to think Mahomes will improve.

They would both be great without the other but together they can be the GOAT.

Insane scenario - Mecole Hardman whose almost as fast as Hill develops quickly, Watkins and Kelce stay healthy, Hill is suspended 0 - 4 games.

Holy crap at that offense.

Damien Williams really impressed me last year too. And there's a couple other rookies that look exciting - Darwin Thompson and Byron Pringle. And Demarcus Robinson isn't bad. JAG Conley is gone so Robinson should get some more reps.

Of course on the other end we could lose Hill for a long time, Watkins and Kelce get dinged up (zero depth at TE), Hardman struggles.

But unless Mahomes gets injured we're still gonna be really good.

Per @TomPelissero the Incognito suspension stems from an incident at a funeral home last August where he wanted to "cut his father's head off for research purposes" and threatened to shoot employees of the funeral home when they stopped him.
uhhh, might as well just file his cte lawsuit now to save time

i'm pretty interested to see how mahomes does in the games without hill. hill is the most electric player i have ever seen (don't come at me with some old players idc) even if he isn't a "better" receiver than deandre hopkins or near as dominant as moss or megatron or whoever...i think its pretty reasonable to think that mahomes is really good while also thinking having hill+one of the best non gronk tight ends of the generation+one of the best offensive minds ever in reid is a pretty ridiculous situational advantage

the o-line has been good too and i literally forget about sammy watkins when i think about the offensive personnel and he is a top 5 paid wide receiver in the league...everyone knows the td numbers are unsustainable but i think he got really lucky with dropped interceptions too last year. all that being said i certainly don't put any stock into the twitter eggs who say "once they get tape on him he will be fraudulent" or whatever no one really believes that but you do wonder how mahomes would look with fat mike as his coach and mediocre talent around him. fortunately i don't have to worry about that but in 3 years when hill is prob out of the league or somewhere else, kelce is semi-washed, watkins is gone, and the team will be paying a zillion dollars to mahomes with less to spend elsewhere i do worry that he is merely a great QB instead of the generational talent it looks like. but i'm a pessimist and all that is ignoring the obvious fact that its pretty reasonable to expect him to improve as he gets experience too

we will see as soon as this year how he looks cuz hill being suspended for a while and watkins being injured are pretty predictable and they have a rough schedule
