I think I've talked myself into being ok - and almost preferring - the Alexis/sterling swap.

City's problem is their lack of finishing. They struggle to put the chances away. Having Alexis on the wing alleviates that with one of Jesus or aguero also being up front and likely sane on the left. He adds scoring but also has the sick ability to create at the same time where sterling is more likely to create vs score.

Problem is their age. Sterling is still young so he's an interesting asset where Alexis is getting older. That said I think it's easier to replace a player like sterling than it is Alexis and the current squad construction favors Alexis

Think sterling would be pretty great at arse tho. Haven't watched every match but they seem to be lacking the creation piece of it. He could open it up for the WELBS

No release clause I believe, and no real need to actually sell him, especially for the low-ball ~30m offers we've been getting.

Sterling + sterling for Sanchez is an amazing deal for Arsenal.

Brought this up after last Deloitte Money League but the gap between Arse and Pool is relatively small and closing and given lolKroenke, our CL bonus and the presumed Coutinho $, there's really no reason Arse should be able to outbid us on Lemar at least this year

Arsenal clearly lacking in leaders - not sure Sterling's gonna help. He will fit in perfectly though.

Rumor is now that it would be Alexis and cash for sterling.

Which obviously makes sense

Think city would be silly to turn that down should it be true

arse adding cash to make that swap happen would go down well with the aftv lads

might make sense due to alexis 1 year left but i dont think they are gonna be too pursuaded by that sort of analysis

Lol at the implication alone that we would outbid anyone.

Liverpool are doing excellent business btw. Wrapping up Keita, van Dijk close and I think they will get Lemar as well. Pretty impressive.

Meanwhile...

Gibbs to WBA done for 7mill £, of course Johnny Evans is not part of the deal cause the news that we need a centre back seemed to have surprised us the most.

Us offering cash and Sanchez for Sterling is an amazing way to reinforce the lols when the first implication was we are getting money and a player...triffic wheelin'n dealin

Ox deal to fall through would be the icing on this cake of misery

dodgy(?) blue checkmark, but it makes sense. they are not buying lemar so coutinho can sit a year in the stands

main question is what happens if the lemar deal falls through. barca getting ****ed on the last day of the transfer window would be the obvious conclusion to this summer

You believe the report, but not the bit that says "not before Liverpool have signed his replacements"?

i think it's most likely barca and coutinho are too determined to miss out and he leaves either way, but barca getting ****ed over in some comical fashion wouldnt be out of character either

City officially bid £50m for Sanchez.

The problem: we won't want to sell without getting a "similar" player from City/other.
Problem with that: what "similar" player, Sterling or other will want to leave a team like city/psg for Arsenal?

That seems like quite the Sanchez for such an amount of money

If they can afford to turn down bids of 50m then just pay the guy 300k a week and be done with it

I don't think Sanchez signs for any amount at this point.

we're a sinking ship and he's clearly over it
