Me: lol
lol true.

Newt understands the significance and importance of Southern Strategy better than Romney could ever hope to, especially in SC and FL. Romney and Huntsman are too nice for the rough and tumble political skills of Newt, and Newt did not become Speaker of the House for nothing.

Lee Atwater, the architect of Southern Strategy, was born in Atlanta and grew up in South Carolina. He died in '91 but his legacy lives on.

lol Gingrich and Atwater at work shortly before Atwater died from a brain tumor:

Quote:
Shortly after Atwater took over the RNC, Jim Wright, a Democrat, was forced to resign as Speaker of the United States House of Representatives and was succeeded by Tom Foley. On the day Foley officially became speaker, the RNC began circulating a memo to Republican Congressmen and state party chairmen called "Tom Foley: Out of the Liberal Closet." The memo compared Foley's voting record with that of openly gay Congressman Barney Frank, with a subtle implication that Foley was himself gay. It had been crafted by RNC communications director Mark Goodin and House Minority Whip Newt Gingrich. In fact, Gingrich had been trying to get several reporters to print it.[9] The memo was harshly condemned on both sides of the aisle. Republican Senate leader Bob Dole, for instance, said in a speech on the Senate floor, "This is not politics. This is garbage."
Gingrich then replaced Foley as Speaker.

Romney really is no match for the political jiu jitsu of Gingrich.

LOL GOOOOOOOOOOOOO NEWT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whether we hand it over now or 10 years from now, Afghanistan is a ****hole and will continue to be. It's simply a result of the terrain and isolation.
But I thought our opposition over there was a bunch of simple farmers motivated to take up arms against the US military to defend Mother Afghanistan

According to some dude on the McGloughlin group Newt has more ex-wives than all the other prior presidents combined.

Quick google search says Reagan was the only president who had a divorce.

Which is a higher effective rate than the vast majority of all taxpayers in America per published IRS figures. The average for the top 50% earners is 12%. The average for the bottom 50% earners is under 2%.

And capital gains taxes are paid on after-tax money that the investor ALREADY paid regular income tax on (originally).

I'm wondering, what % of voters in the GE would be simply unable to stomach the idea of an alien, err, Callista, in the WH. It just seems there's a certain cohort that really values a 'nice' 1st lady. There were a lot of folks who really bristled at Hillary being as assertive as she was, eg.

If i was living in the US i would vote Obama, but if i had to vote republican, then my vote would 100% go to Ron Paul. Not just because he favor legalized poker, but he just seems so "legit" comparted to all other candidates. And i think it really shown that many people feel this way with all the support he is getting, Pretty amazing if he pulls it off with a budget way lower than all other candidates http://www.play***********.net/poker...zed-poker/1280

You realize about 1/3 of those 50% of "earners" that the repubs like to quote so much had zero income right? So I'm not sure earners is the term you want to go with. Another 1/3 are seniors on SS - damn freeloaders. But yeah that final 1/3 of working poor hovering around the poverty line - oooh they make me so mad!

Wait what were we talking about again?

We've got a fourth poll of Florida out this morning. And it has Romney up by 2 points over Gingrich, 34% to 32%. The first three had Newt up by either 9 or 5 points.

its as simple as this 1. they are rich. they have power. they use it to get over. 2. others are poor. they have f all. they get f'd.

if u really dont see this then u are going to hell not because u are like full of hate or greedy ur hell is reserved for ignorant f tards and it consists of keeping ur head up ur ass for the length of time ok image a bird with a piece of silk and he flys over a mt. everest of marble and he drapes it gently over the mountain once a year. ur head stays up ur ass until the mountain is turned to dust that is ur hell ignorant f tard.

You ignore the main point that for the TOP 50% of income earners the average effective federal income tax rate is 12%. And Romney's 14% is higher than about 95% of ALL taxpayers (FIT/AGI). The only people who pay more than that are people with high regular income and little or no investment income. I'm one of them, my effective 2011 rate was 18%. And I believe there shouldn't be any capital gains tax.

It's a huge class warfare myth pushed by the media that "regular people" pay more.

ok cooled off a little took a shower and dressed and now i got to go to work despite the fact that i am the same age as mitt when he retired. i got poor and hurt clients to represent. guess that rich fer just worked harder than me. and the cash that i make whats left of it got to fin pay fed and state a whole lot more than mitt. but i guess i should be happy, imagine what would happen if rich folks got together and wanted to get over but that dont happen, the poor and working man we always get a fair shake when it comes to money. oh there i go spouting off my envy again. dang i wish i could be a fat lazy ignorant f tard instead of a wise tough working man ur right mitten we just jealous of u and ur white bread smile and baggy old lady campaign jeans. drink a beer u fin feg.

I actually think these tax returns help Romney. Something about seeing those large numbers in print earns him respect. He paid his legally required taxes and donated a lot to charity. Nothing that I think could hurt him against Newt, and if he brings it up Romney can now say he is attacking success like a liberal.

I still think there is probably some shadier stuff in the earlier years but we'll never know and I think people will forget all about it.

I was leaning Newt in Florida and potentially for the whole nomination, but I think Romney is regaining his footing and will squeak by. A win in Florida for Mitt and he cruises in Nevada and is back on the winning road.
