The Women's March folks, the US title holder for putting peeps on the street, have announced their next big action: Wed March 8 "Day Without a Woman" General Strike.

In the weeks leading up to March 8th, we will continue to discuss the variety of ways that all people can join the fight for economic justice...
As for taking the day off, here's some interesting reads (below). FYI: Sec7 concerns workers who do not have union representation...

I thought you were the reactionaries? And it is on college campuses that the safe sites have been set up. And how does that change the rules here?

DOES THAT

CHANGE THE RULES

Why? I guess, besides you feeling voting in these kinda farces is good for the soul. Do you think it would help the donkeys?

FYI: if you are a wage earner you can be an IWW, with full voice & vote, regardless of age. Back in the day, when child labor was much more common, we had plenty of children, including those younger than 16, voting in our elections. The MSM of the day, which had no problem with 8yos down the coal mines, called this policy child exploitation.

One very good reason for making the voting age younger is that people would be able to start voting while they still lived in their hometowns, with their parents. Once they do it in a setting they are familiar with they're more likely to go back and do it again.

Politics Forum Rules
Welcome to the Politics Forum. Here are the rules.

1. Attack the argument, not the arguer. This includes calling a user a troll, or announcing that you have or are putting someone on ignore. Having your opinion, claim or argument challenged, doubted or dismissed is not attacking the arguer.

2. Don't be a troll.

Rules don't apply to Mr Wookie, Aofrantic and especially goofyballer. More proof that the left has one set of rules for itself and another rule for others.

I'm not happy about that anymore. I used to think part of moving the country forward meant someone had to start with being the bigger person and making sacrifices in the interest of the common good, and maybe others would follow.

8 years later, seems pretty clear that isn't happening. Republican-controlled states are getting even worse with vote suppression and don't appear to give the slightest amount of ****s about making elections more fair.

California voted 62-33 for Clinton, and 25% of its Congressional delegation is Republicans. A little less than the popular vote share, but reasonable.

Meanwhile, in North Carolina, Trump edged out a 51-47 win. 3 of their 13 representatives are Democrats. Same story in razor-thin and Republican-controlled (at the state level) Michigan - 9 Republicans, 5 Democrats. Pennsylvania, where Republicans had full control of 2011 redistricting: 13 Republicans, 6 Democrats.

So, **** it. **** California's fair districts:

Take these ****s in the Sierras and mesh each part of them with a different area of Sacramento. Take Darrell Issa's district in armed forces-heavy north San Diego County and figure out how to snake it through to include East Los Angeles. Send 50 Democrats and 3 Republicans to Washington and tell the red states we'll cease and desist when they do it too. Make it a compact like the national popular vote one.

So ****ing frustrating when only one group cares about working to the betterment of the country.

You are a ideological one side flack who can't think straight. You probably think that anyone who thinks different than you has a devil tail. And you have no knowledge of population geography that goes into distracting. Also you must think that when the Dems are in charge they are perfectly honest and fair. You want to gerrymander California so you show yourself to be a political hack. And you are very ignorant as well. You didn't have the guts to serve your country but, if you did you'd know that military people keep the state residency of the state they enlisted from. So they vote absentee in local and national elections. Happy Veterans Day from a disabled vet who joined to protect democracy from someone like you who doesn't believe in it.

LOL Johnny, I never got to see that post you were infracted for. Bro do you know anything about how gerrymandering currently works in the US?

How is it that you have such strong opinions on political subjects you know absolutely nothing about? You're still sitting here arguing liberals are terrorists ffs.

Again one rule for you and one rule for people who disagree with you. Mr. Wookie banned me for personal attack. And here he encourages it. This site needs to be closed down if they don't won't to enforce the rules fairly and equally.

And goofyballer I do know about gerrymandering. Studied it in college. Was a Geography major with concentration in GIS. You want to gerrymander so only your people win in an undemocratic way. I read your post.

Mexican human wall protest starts on US border

Thousands of Mexicans have linked arms to form a 'human wall' on the border with the US on the edge of the Rio Grande river. Almost 1.5 kilometers long, the human wall is protesting Trump's plan to build an actual wall.

The protest... including El Paso Mayor Oscar Leeser - brought together... Many people on both sides of the border... "Ciudad Juarez and El Paso are one city - we will never be apart,"... Ciudad Juarez counterpart Mayor Armando Cabada said his town would help resettle migrants deported from the US. "Trump only generates fear..."
So it begins.

I really can't described the visceral hatred us Borderlandia folks feel. Everyone, donkey, elephant, PRI, PAN, PRD, despise these walls. We especially hate that fools 100s of miles away feel it's cool to f*** with our lives as a goof. Everyone who advocates the wall should have one built at the end of their own damn block. Seriously... f*** you people.

We simply won't sit still for this crap.

If they want a wall, so be it, I guess. Those 18-wheelers are easy to stop. F***ing with logistics will always be the go to action. Having all logistics funnelled through a mere handful of ports of entry is an activists dream come true. And all those 18-wheelers can be disrupted at the border, or 1000s of miles away from the border.

I am wondering why 2+2 allows you to have you misogynist and sexist avatar and message that advocates for the rape and kidnap of women and their sexual slavery as put fort in John Norman's books? Or is promoting rape totally ok here too?

Clearly you didn't read my post or don't know anything about gerrymandering in places like North Carolina right now, or else you wouldn't have walked away from my post with the idiotic conclusion that I only want my people to win in an undemocratic way.

That's a fair question imo, but so far to me ShameT is inscrutable and I've withheld judgement until I'm closer to scruting.

You want to gerrymander California. That was your post. When democrats are in charge they do it. When republicans are in charge they do it. You seem to only be offended when you don't get to do it. And you again assume I don't know what it is. You didn't bother to read my posts at all. A large class of people posting on this thread have the delusion that they have the only ones who know anything.
Seeing the posts here I see lots of ignorance and self delusions. Frankly lots of people are acting as spoiled brats and special snowflakes who have never lived in the real world. They are rude crude and totally self deluded.

You break the rules of conduct of this site when it comes to personal conduct and act like school yard bullies to anyone who disagrees with you. Mr Wookie doesn't even bother to respond to a private message and I would like to know how the #$#Q% he has any power to ban anyone when he should be banned himself for personal attacks.
