Agreed. If we're going to have voter ID (which I support the concept of), we need to make it as easy as possible to get. Send people around like the census. A McMullin town hall I watched had the idea of DMV ID trucks that park at neighborhood centers and do the processing there.

Wife went to a protest tonight in support of immigrants/DACA. Saw first-hand how it was entirely peaceful but apparently people marching in the streets is just to much and the cops had to come in to break it up and arrest people. No destruction, no riots, no weapons, just people exercising their rights to peaceful protest.

The hunch is supported by the fact that @RoguePOTUSStaff is promoting the protest. That account pretty much has to be a troll. I guess MAYBE Trump's team could be so incompetent that this would slip by them, but what about Secret Service? I just can't see how that source can be trusted.

And which neighborhood centers do you suppose those trucks would go to in red states?

The thought did occur to me as well, but yeah, it's just conspiracy theory speculation at this point. Although it would be kind of cool to see a black bloc making a show with masks off and a clearly stated goal of preventing disruption.

Come on, man, think a little deeper. You're driving the voter registration bus around Mobile, AL. Your boss is a Republican. So is your boss' boss, and that guy's boss too. It's GOP all the way up. Which neighborhoods are you going to be visiting, and more importantly, which ones will you not be visiting?

Well of course the idea isn't going to work NOW. It presumes a good faith effort to get people registered which OBVIOUSLY isn't the current case.

FYI: if you are a wage earner you can be an IWW, with full voice & vote, regardless of age. Back in the day, when child labor was much more common, we had plenty of children, including those younger than 16, voting in our elections. The MSM of the day, which had no problem with 8yos down the coal mines, called this policy child exploitation.

Ha, I'm quite radical on this point actually. I'm willing to extend the franchise to any citizen who can sign their name. But 16 seems like a good starting place for now.

I do think, at least in the short term, it would help the Democrats. But that isn't really the reason for me. I think politicians are somewhat responsive to the interests perceived interests of their voters. Children and teenagers have more long-term interests than old people (one of the reasons they care so much more about climate change), so if they voted politicians would care a little more about these long-term type of issues.

I don't actually, but people get weirded out when I talk about proxy parent voting.
