Trump has lots of faults but being racist is not one of them.
So I mean Trump's businesses have been
accused of discriminatory practices:

The two would-be renters on that July 1972 day were actually undercover “testers” for a *government-sanctioned investigation to determine whether Trump Management Inc. discriminated against minorities seeking housing at properties across Brooklyn and Queens.
Federal investigators also gathered evidence. Trump employees had secretly marked the applications of minorities with codes, such as “No. 9” and “C” for “colored,” according to government interview accounts filed in federal court. The employees allegedly directed blacks and Puerto Ricans away from buildings with mostly white tenants, and steered them toward properties that had many minorities, the government filings alleged.
Trump
took out an ad calling for the reinstatement of the death penalty in the wake of the Central Park Five arrests. Can't find any record of his apologising or even expressing regret after their exoneration.
Trump also took out (anonymous) ads (same link) adverting to the purported criminality of Native Americans:

Trump led the charge in the movement calling Obama's legitimacy as POTUS into question. I mean you don't need a link for that. Claims about Obama's birthplace, possibly forged or illegitimate birth certificate, forged or illegitimate college transcripts etc.
Did Trump do all of that because he's clueless enough for it to have all been innocent, or did Trump do that because he's a racist? And I should note: I don't mean a cross-burning, send-them-back-to-Africa racist. I just mean the kind of racist who's generally more inclined to think the worst of black people than of white people.
And let's go one further: If we go with Option A, where Trump is just this Clouseauesque buffoon stumbling innocently from mistaken belief to discriminatory practice and back again... is that really any less reason to object to him as a candidate?
