The Guardian is always a good source. But news are always at least a bit biased. Go to those that follow the journalistic rules and ethics. A go to in the USA seems to be the Washington Post, but i advice to rely on multiple sources, for some perspective you can try the Wall Street Journal.

But the best is to read a actually print (offline) newspaper. Online news always means you are just going for the most interesting headline while otherwise you also read the articles you normally wouldnt which is important.

OTOH, logic has nothing to do with politics and Rs blatant attempt to steal a Supreme Court seat was rewarded with literally everything so who knows.
they can do anything they want. their supporters will never turn on them and will eat up whatever excuse they provide, esp if it is blaming, dems, poors, and blacks.

I consider Reuters to be the most reliable source of news.

Read different sources and engage in critical thinking. Being informed in 2017 takes work you can't just expect to read one source and be good.

CBC, BBC, The Globe And Mail, National Post.

Watching his TV interview.

I love this show and listen religiously, or so I thought, but I missed this one. Thanks for the heads-up.

BBC, the Guardian, The Independent.

Be very wary of the other major UK news outlets eg Mail Online - most have an agenda set by their owner.

Hopefully someone already posted this but if not... GMAIL GUYS.

Agree on the international news sites. CNN and foxnews have basically become useless.

I just tried this and it's not gmail.

The Guardian and The Independent clearly show a left-wing or center-left bias though they do feature a token conservative writer or two to placate those who accuse them of bias.

The BBC has had controversies started from both sides of the spectrum that they basically even themselves out imo.

It's been confirmed by plenty of sources, the official account was linked to Gmail. Lmao, great security decision by whoever took over when Trump was being sworn in.

Here's a solid layout:

I doubt you'll find a privately-owned media outlet without a bias towards the left or right. If you're aware of that, it can be taken into account. Also, the terms left and right mean very different things in the UK compared to the US.

The BBC tends to drift slightly towards the politics of the government of the day, but does have impartiality written into its charter.

someone should get andrew exum on tv to say this stuff: https://www.theatlantic.com/politics...litary/514514/

it's important. talking about taking iraqi oil, in dumb enough terms that everyone can understand it, is probably in the top 5 of worst things trump has done this week. it's risking iraqi peace and american lives.

The fear many have is that once the Islamic State is defeated in Iraq, the Iranian-backed militias in Iraq will be tempted to turn their attention toward the U.S. and coalition forces in Iraq.

One area in which the Iranians, in particular, have consistently bettered the United States in Iraq has been in messaging. The Iranians have been very savvy in using investments in Iraqi media to sow doubt about the true intentions of the United States. That’s why a year ago, at a time in which the United States had just helped Iraqi forces recapture Ramadi, 40 percent of Iraqis nonetheless believed the United States was “working to destabilize Iraq and control its natural resources.”

“Pshaw!” we would tell the Iraqis at the time. “That’s typical Middle East conspiracy-mongering!”

Well, the joke was on us, because our elected head of state apparently believes what the Iraqis feared we believed.

NYT: Trump’s Chief Strategist Says News Media Should ‘Keep Its Mouth Shut’

Quote:
Stephen K. Bannon, President Trump’s chief White House strategist, laced into the American press during an interview on Wednesday evening, arguing that news organizations had been “humiliated” by an election outcome few anticipated, and repeatedly describing the media as “the opposition party” of the current administration.

“The media should be embarrassed and humiliated and keep its mouth shut and just listen for awhile,” Mr. Bannon said during a telephone call.

“I want you to quote this,” Mr. Bannon added. “The media here is the opposition party. They don’t understand this country. They still do not understand why Donald Trump is the president of the United States.”
Quote:
Asked if he was concerned that Mr. Spicer had lost credibility with the press, Mr. Bannon chortled. “Are you kidding me?” he said. “We think that’s a badge of honor. ‘Questioning his integrity’ — are you kidding me? The media has zero integrity, zero intelligence, and no hard work.”

“You’re the opposition party,” Mr. Bannon said. “Not the Democratic Party. You’re the opposition party. The media’s the opposition party.”

While Mr. Bannon mostly referred to the “elite” or “mainstream” media, he cited The New York Times and The Washington Post by name.
