So stop whining about some people not being able to enter you country. They are alive, they are not murdered, they are not tortured.
Your great nation has been like this for decades. Lying, betraying, manipulating, torturing and mudering all around the world. And now with Trump all this crap comes back at you and you begin to realize that the USA might not be so great after all.
so the US did bad stuff and there wasn't widespread protest, so we shouldn't bother getting it right now? better to start now than never.

Oh it was yesterday's scandal and obviously trivial compared to today, but the "no mention of six million Jews" thing:

Which is like, textbook soft Holocaust denial, that Jews were targeted for genocide.

Seems like a bad mistake by Uber not even considering morality and stuff.

Other options are available, big cities are their main business (I think), and big cities harbor lots of liberals they probably don't want to piss off.

Glad to see you're at least up to the level of "disagree" with the worst thing done by an American President in generations. You want a cookie?

I think the stay is as applied to the one Iraqi Refugee they sued on behalf of, at least that's the way it is being reported now. Need to find the text of the decision when its posted.

Nevermind: The executive order is frozen per msnbc, People can't be sent back to their countries but it doesn't necessarily release them from detention. Thank god for the judicial system, the only branch still standing in the way of complete fascism.

Wait, why is this a bad thing? Wouldn't that mean cheaper rides for those stuck at JFK??
01-28-2017 , 10:10 PM
Stay granted.
01-28-2017 , 10:10 PM
it's a stay based on the whole class according to twitter, which would be a nationwide injunction

i also saw on twitter that it's limited to green card holders, but that's unconfirmed.
01-28-2017 , 10:11 PM
stay only applies to people who are in transit or already here.

All the flaming Canadians make me laugh. Go ahead and accept as many as you want. Maybe Canada can take a turn actually helping out and contributing for a change. Have at it fellas. Take them all with open arms.

You don't seem to understand how solidarity works.

Amazing that a stay has been granted. Unreal.

I'm going to start donating $10 a month to the ACLU indefinitely right now.

He quite simply can't, without making this a very significant issue that pisses off very important business interests. Emirates wouldn't be able to fly to the US most likely, which would have huge global ramifications.

Tens/hundreds of thousands of American citizens (including plenty of white ones) will be put in very uncertain situations and a pretty immediate panic will set in. Many senators and representatives will hear from segments of the population that usually stay quiet.

I saw an explanation elsewhere on the internets that said they didn't want to look like they were profiting off the protests, I'm not totally sure if turning off surge pricing (if people are stranded w/ no cabs, they'd probably be willing to pay for surge with little other choice) is a super bad guy move or anything.
