I like all those actors, but I don’t want to watch a dark comedy about the US torturing people around Christmastime. Gonna see the Freddy Mercury movie instead.

So basically Mike Leach is that woman from Pahrump, NV who believes every fake right-wing meme? Cool.

I've seen a couple of interviews with Leach over the past several weeks, in both he looked and sounded like a guy whose primary concern was getting to bingo on time at his assisted living facility.

I don't believe I said NY was complaining, I believe I said New Yorkers were, if that wasn't clear I apologize.

What is the difference between people living in Long Island City complaining about Amazon building their headquarters there and people in San Francisco complaining and blocking low income housing from built in their neighborhood?

WSU's athletic dept has been shady for a long long time and 2nd or 3rd tier college football coaches is probably smack dab in the middle of Trump's demographic. I'm disappointed he didn't lose his job over it.

There is literally no difference at all between the two, they are exactly the same. Thank you kindly for your revelatory and intelligent post.

Where are they supposed to build the new Amazon HQ? People who are capable of working for Amazon don't want to live in Tulsa. And they can't hire 'people from the neighborhood' because they aren't actually qualified. I'm not sure how the tax breaks work. I know that sports teams were getting tax breaks that the cities weren't making back (net negative), if that is the case, then don't give them the tax breaks. Do the people who are being gentrified want to move to Tulsa? Because that could solve everything.

It's a good question re: Reagan. With Bush, the popularity has to be partly because it's so damned easy to do an impression of him.

Good point, makes you think..... maybe Amazon should have paid New York to take advantage of its infrastructure instead of being given handouts..... "you didn't build that"

Amazon also needs to be around really big elite universities. I am sure that is also why they ended up in the Northeast.

Pretty sure the cities are getting played for the tax breaks.

On gentrification, white people have discovered that living in a big city is way cooler than living in the suburbs with strip malls.

Would Sean Carter still be JayZ if he was born in the suburbs of Kansas City?
11-19-2018 , 10:59 PM
2048's Jay Z almost certainly wasn't born in Brooklyn tho, and probably not even NYC.
