have you read any of the research in how incentives work? Not working at Target is its own reward.

What if I were to tell you that other countries have higher effective minimal wages while simultaneously paying their doctors less?

Anyways I'm done with the welfare argument though I will say the guns as a right to defend yourself and guns as a block against (liberal) tyranny and the backlash against welfare are actively wrapped up together.

How do they avoid running out of doctors?

They just ration the healthcare.

The US rations healthcare as well. They just do it via employers and since employers aren't the government they aren't rationing it. That's how you make rationing disappear.

ah, thats why the US healthcare system is usually ranked better than, say Denmark.

When you can pay twice as much for worse results, I don't see what's not to like.

3 minute video of thomas sowell on min wage, I've yet to hear an adequate refutation of his simple argument.

14% of Americans experienced food insecurity in 2014, 5.6% severely.

Concerns about the inefficiencies of the minimum wage can be dealt with through some form of subsidy, either expansion of the EITC or just going straight to a basic personal income. But I'm guessing you don't support either of those, either.

New polling. More people are coming around, but how much difference will it make?

Simple arguments are the only kind some people can understand.

those are both fine options provided. Canada doesn't have tax for incomes of 9k cdn or below seems great and basic personal income is great if you shave off welfare and ss and the like.

better than the current system for sure, I am not an ideological purist. also your suggesting of bpi means you agree min wage is **** right
07-23-2016 , 02:46 PM
isnt a basic personal income more likely to produce people who dont want to work than welfare?
07-23-2016 , 03:42 PM
theres no disincentives to work

say we have a bpi of 8k usd/person which is very doable, this is enough for food and rent, most people want more so they can work for more. you don't get punished for working as you do in many welfare programs

You do realize that cutting off benefits would not sober them up, or make them employable?
