Handguns would require a SCOTUS change as well.

Cool?

In Virginia, where I live and hunt, you're limited to 5 deer a year (6 if you live east of the blue ridge mountains), 3 of which must be antlerless.

I'm sure there are plenty of families up in the mountains that poach deer, but would venture a guess that the number of families that rely on hunting for a significant part of their food is nearly zero.

Related stat found while googling: in 2011, 6% of the population 16 and over went hunting. That is tiny.

Points for the chutzpah from a NC lawmaker

Quote:
“We have to get over this useless hysteria about guns and allow school personnel to have a chance to defend their lives and those of their students,” Pittman said during a meeting of the Joint Legislative Emergency Management Oversight Committee. Republican state Rep. Michael Speciale of Craven County also met with the police officer, Pittman said.
Just a reminder where the useless hysteria of guns comes from

Quote:
A 19-year-old is*charged with 17 counts of premeditated murder*following a shooting rampage with an AR-15 rifle that left 17 dead at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.
Well let's check back in with the totally normal lawmaker

Quote:
In a Facebook comment on*another user’s post, Pittman speculated the Florida shooter was part of a conspiracy to “push for gun control so they can more easily take over the country.”
Literally Infowars, geez

If the left would just acquiesce to the right, and agree that guns aren't the problem maybe we can get somewhere. Guns aren't the problem. The problem is school shootings and mass shootings, banning guns is the solution to the problem in the interim until we can figure out how to prevent people from getting to a point where they feel the need to do that.

I think some of these gun nuts just want somebody to tell them how proud they are that they have managed not to kill somebody with their gun. Have to pat them on the head, and give em a lolipop.

The idea that getting to a point where you want to commit mass murder being a uniquely American thing is ridiculous. The only uniquely American thing is that these people who reach breaking point have such easy access to weapons that allow them to commit mass murder.

In the good news department, I just booked a $100 charity bet with a deplorable over Nikolas Cruz's political ideology, he pays if the guy is a right-wing extremist, I pay if he's antifa. I'm pretty sure there's already been a decent amount of info on this so I can't believe I goaded this dip**** into taking the bet, but hooray, any pointers to conclusive info would be appreciated (I haven't really been paying that much attention).

banning semi-autos shouldn't really affect sportsmen, there's no reason you can't hunt with a bolt-action rifle.

Just saw that, but your deplorable will likely just dismiss it as being CNN.

more likely he'll say "he could be an antifa racist"

Nobody is paying here, unless the bet stipulated acceptable media sources. He's going to dig up some InfoWars or Breitbart propaganda, and yell Fake News at your CNN citation.

Yeah I'm pretty sure the dude is just freerolling me, I am probably going to take side bets with others in my alumni group on whether he'll pay when he loses.

You're getting freerolled here, my dude. There's a photo circulating of Cruz wearing a MAGA hat, but gl getting the deplorable guy to ever pay up.

These kids at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School may really be the catalysts to get a meaningful gun control debate started. Its time to rip these Republicans a set of brand new *******s. The kids are inspiring.

Michael and Lisa Morrison were “completely shocked and mortified that anything like this would happen,” their lawyer Douglas Rudman said in a statement.

“They condemn in the strongest possible fashion anyone who use any weapon in anger and violence. They’re good family people who would never advocate violence toward anyone.”

it's a good thing old guns deteriorate over time and stop working after their "shoot by date..."

He was correct until bolded. It's obviously normal. 18 school shootings in less than two months = incredibly commonplace = normal. In sounds trollish but if normal means standard, usual, typical, ordinary, to be expected, etc., then ya, this is normal in America.
