Bank of 'Murica!
I would say BOA is the absolute WOAT, and they are indeed terrible, note their longstanding policy of processing charges from largest to smallest to maximize overdraft fees, but lest anyone forget HSBC knowingly laundered hundreds of billions of dollars for the world's largest drug cartels.

Banks!

During a combative news conference in early August, White House adviser Stephen Miller told reporters that the United States should prioritize immigrants who speak English.

“Does the applicant speak English?” Miller asked, describing a bill to reduce the overall number of immigrants and reform immigration requirements. “Can they support themselves and their families financially? Do they have a skill that will add to the U.S. economy?”

But if English proficiency had been an immigration requirement a century ago, Miller’s own great-grandmother may not have been allowed into the country......

In Miller’s case, Mendelsohn tracked down his great-grandmother’s line item in the 1910 census. The entry noted that four years after arriving in the United States, she spoke only Yiddish, not English.

...

conservative pundit Tomi Lahren’s great-great-grandfather (who forged his immigration papers, no less) and U.S. Rep. Steve King’s grandmother, who arrived in the United States from Germany at age 4. (“We can’t restore our civilization with somebody else’s babies,” the Iowa Republican tweeted in March.)

I know this is beside the point, but I don't think many people spoke just Yiddish. She probably also spoke German or Russian or Polish or something else.

The culture that displays those lawn jockeys is racist and bigoted. Go ahead and defend that culture if you want, but to me they can get ****ed.
That makes me think of this:

Hi. I'm done for night but had 2p2 on my phone and saw a weird lol probably st that got deleted. I I just wanted to say that I don't post on here on any gimmick accounts not counting a few made for bbv4l like someone space-mans pup, cat magician judge and chronodeath. I haven't posted on a gimmick even there was in over a years. What makes that weirder is I don't think that's cowslikegrass either so... I'm have no idea.

Montana now requires ISPs Follow net neutrality rules in order to get state government contracts.

The FCC is trying to prevent states from implementing their own net neutrality rules, so we will see what happens. More states should jump on this quickly.

Most of it might be, but that spiral staircase down to the library is pretty damn sweet. Strikingly Horta-esque in a house that is mostly anything but.
01-23-2018 , 12:09 AM
Yeah the library is kind of cool. That giant living area thing though - ho lee ***. It's like a Dubai mall or something.
01-23-2018 , 12:13 AM
I think you basically have to be Liberace to be able to pull off that look and make it work. Staircase to the library is really nice, tho.

https://tonyarcieri.com/the-tether-conundrum

Quote:
Now you can use a centralized fiat cryptocurrency to “Be the custodian of your own funds and eliminate exchange custodial risk”. Instead of FDIC insured funds backed by the United States government (but subject to those pesky AML/KYC laws), you can instead use… a cryptocurrency run by people who totally swear every $1 USDT of funny money has a corresponding $1 USD of real money sitting in “reserves” somewhere, and auditors are totally keeping tabs on things. Allegedly! According to Tether!
Quote:
That’s a lot of words. What’s the tl;dr? As of approximately April 2017, you could not buy or sell USDT for USD. It’s as if it became… un-Tethered. Whatever legitimate uses of Tether as some sort of cryptocurrency proxy for USD ceased to exist in any form that day, and Tether became “a cryptocurrency we believe holds a dollar value because Tether claims they have the dollars in their bank account”.

At the time this announcement was originally made, Tether’s market cap was approximately $50 million. Its current market cap is $1.7 billion.

Quote:
In the middle of a massive selloff, suddenly out of nowhere we see buys for $500 above market value. And this isn’t just an isolated incident, but part of an ongoing pattern where a downward trend in Bitcoin’s price mysteriously reverses shortly after new Tether issuances.

that the railing around the upstairs portion isn't a good circle really bothers me. Who looks at that stairway and thinks, "You know what the top of my stairway needs? Some weird outward jutting thing that serves no purpose!"
01-23-2018 , 12:33 AM
It's an elevator. You really need to look at all the pics to get the full surreal grandeur of the place.
01-23-2018 , 12:38 AM
He's talking about the top of the library stairs imo, not the weird elevator.
01-23-2018 , 12:51 AM
Yeah, I'm gonna have to go on record as McKayla.jpg for those library stairs.
01-23-2018 , 12:53 AM
Dammit I give you guys the tackiest house OAT and all you want to focus on is the one decent part.

I hate you all.
01-23-2018 , 12:55 AM
It's too painful to spend time looking at the rest of it.
