I don't understand why some believe that explicitly treating fellow citizens as unequal is appropriate and ok. Does not compute. Even regarding religion, a simple "do unto others" calculation would indicate that it's cruel and unkind. Mean people suck.

Can we just talk about how pathetic it is that when this wanted to bitch about the (non-existent) anti-rich movement he had to make an analogy to the Nazis?

Les Miserables just had a film version, the Dark Knight Rises was a thinly veiled French Revolution parable...

Why would he not use that as his historical touchpoint instead of a movement that was notably and violently in conflict with communism(and was defeated by the joint forces of the USSR and Americas most famously redistributionist President)?

I wouldnt necessarily call the "anti rich movement" non-existent. But its obviously got goals that are more like "tax capital gains as income and create a new higher bracket of income" not "lets round them up and kill them all".

Note that the big anti-inequality proposal this year is slightly increasing the minimum wage. Maybe if Obama feels feisty he might talk about a jobs bill or something. Certainly nothing that will make the superrich pay the same tax rates as the American middle class, much less tax them like they are in every other developed country( very few anti-wealthy person pogroms in Scandinavia).
