I managed to book a bet with one of the least onerous right wingers on the Porsche forum GETTING 2-1. I feel strangely guilty, like I am gambling with a five year old, is this normal?

Serious question:

Does Nate's model account for voter suppression, long lines, possibility of rigged tabulation, etc.

I only skimmed his methodology. Is the ~20% chance of a Mitt win what accounts for various possible riggage, suppression, Sandy, etc?

Counting from June 2009, there is no metric by which the economy is measured that shows the economy not being much better.

What more could anyone possibly need to know to vote for him? Seriously, I dont even get why SeattleLou is voting Romney despite being a Republican.

Is giving tax cuts to the wealthy, which the unbiased non-partisan Congressional Research Service reported as having no fundamental evidence of having benefit to the economy, really worth voting against the person who is a proven job creating president who knows what it takes to improve and grow the economy? Do you really need a new land war in the middle east, are you that desperate to go back to the Bush years you are voting for a guy who is LITERALLY surrounded by Bush advisers and appointees?

The only person linked to the Bush years not invited by Mitt to help him is dubya himself, who is busy babysitting his money in the Cayman Islands for him.

I'm not sure. He was just admonished by NYT a few days ago for engaging with Scarborough on twitter and challenging him to a bet. NYT issued an apology or something and said nate wasnt behaving up to their standards, or something to that effect.

Full disclosure:

1) It's being escrowed with a pretty reputable poster.
2) The bettor is a Mormon.

Even money a fair line?

538 is probably one of the few parts of the NYT website paying the bills consistently generating traffic.

If they dont want to keep paying him many outlets will line up.

Yeah I saw that. He did not sell his hugely popular website outright. Nate Silver is synonyms with 538. He is a frail and gay little man but he's not stupid.

Watching Rmoney in Colorado just now. Watched him yesterday in Ohio. The speech is exactly the same. Totally interchangeable. ldo, I guess. But he even used the same, "If I'm elected next week... I mean WHEN I'm elected....(huge applause)" as if it was just a little slip.

And he's been dragging around the goddamn Bill's Barbecue story to every campaign stop. If they had stayed in business (in the robust and expanding Richmond barbecue eatery industry) they would have had some great publicity. Ha.

----- Now he's on to this weird and kind of gruesome retreaded story about the Boy Scouts, a flag, and the Challenger explosion again.

/sigh. My dad is convinced the polls are a librul conspiracy and Mittens is up by 8 points nationally. He's also not at all concerned about the off chance Obamao gets reelected because Obama is a 100% lock to get impeached over LIBYA LIBYA LIBYA.

The most important measure, the unemployment rate, is not "much better".

You act all surprised like every politician in every state in the country doesn't do the exact same thing.

At least Bush's TARP (financials) is repaid. Obama's (GM) not so much.

Posts like this are why nobody should feel too proud about their leveling ITT. This guy is serious.

The economy has been limping back, but this is pretty much the worst recovery ever. So things are slightly better, but I wouldnt say it's something that O can hang his hat on and be proud of.
