Haha well unless they had a serious heads up, which they probably didnt, no way the trauma attending beats the surgery resident to it, and if its ME, my hand is in that chest before my attending makes it to the ED. Our ER attendings would have no idea what to do with a scalpel so thats a non-issue, and I'd think very few EM attendings are comfortable cracking a chest. What hospital was this at?

Didn't say they didn't know what they were talking about just that I loved it. I would trust LirVa as a more trusted news source than CNN at this point.
