update, shockingly it turns out the white kids are themselves pretty sketchy

cliffnotes: white kids claimed they had a partnership with Million Hoodies Movement, which... they didn't.

This tapatalk app is sooo much better than the twoplustwo one.

Also, my dislike for someone starts increasing as soon as someone uses the word "sketchy".

The Purge. In the movie, with the sequel out this weekend, you get to do whatever you like for one day a year including kill people.

Some idjits in Louisville have been circulating a real life Purge thing and it's trending on Twitter, etc.... forgetting one key element... that those things you might do during the "Purge" are ****ing illegal in reality.

Wait so is "glassing" a common thing there, so common that it needed it's own name?
08-18-2014 , 02:18 AM
Yes and yes.

We lock people up for offensive twitter posts and 'looting' bottled water yet this woman gets off scott free. That case is an embarrassment.

Depends how you define common, pro tip don't mix up glassing and bottling. Two different things.
08-18-2014 , 08:01 AM
This is what happens when a country doesn't have enough guns, you have to have names like "glassing" and "bottling".

So, housing developers have decided to embrace inequality:

omg the poor door story is so great because it gets morons to self-identify

philllll, how mad would you be if they just built two seperate buildings instead?
08-18-2014 , 09:50 AM
I would prefer if the rich built their own air filtration systems they don't have to breath the poors' air.
08-18-2014 , 10:03 AM
Well more, obviously, due to the extra footprint of space usage just so the rich could avoid living near the upper middle class.

Poor doors lololloolloolololool.

Edit:

"Nobody treats me like a second-class citizen in my own home," says Jean Green Dorsey, who filed a complaint with the city Human Rights Commission this spring over her Manhattan building's fitness center. She and fellow rent-stabilized tenants aren't allowed to enter it despite a willingness to pay a fee; market-rate renters use it gratis.
They, of course, can use it for a fee. Pay the full rent.

But the building is not a metaphor. It is, in fact, a building.
Pretty sure all metaphors are based in things that are, in fact, themselves.

I'm not sure how anyone can defend the inclusion of a poor door. The fact that New York has insane real estate prices doesn't have anything to do with the poor door.

That's like saying minorities should be happy they at least get to eat at a restaurant even if they have to sit separately and use separate bathrooms.

No it's not. It's more like if McDonalds and Ruth's Chris decided to share a building and built separate entrances.

The optics on this suck, but it's a predictable consequence of policy, and getting bent out of shape about it is just from people not thinking the scenario through.
