How would it be dumb? If he were very pro MJ legalization I'd probably vote for him again.
04-26-2012 , 12:28 PM
Yeah, the stoner community has a super strong GOTV system. No one against MJ legalization either. Everyone's solid.

04-26-2012 , 12:30 PM
Well where is he gonna lose votes? He'll gain some stoner votes, won't lose many dem votes, sure as hell won't lose any R votes cause he doesn't have them.
04-26-2012 , 12:33 PM
There's a difference between understanding Obama's stance (and I have wondered what whas going on there, and thought his clarification made sense even if I don't agree with it) and supporting it.

Massive lol's at LirvA's moral bankruptcy.
04-26-2012 , 12:33 PM
Besides, it's wrong that that's all that matters. All that should matter is that people would have more freedom. A good president would make those decisions, votes be damned.
04-26-2012 , 12:33 PM
IDK LirvA.

I think there's more D's against marijuana legalization than you think.

I don't know that they'd vote Romney but it may keep then away from the poles.

And IDK if the increase in stoner votes would make it a politically wise choice.

No idea why he's beating around the point.
No, I was just giving a remedial civics lesson. If you don't like laws, the appropriate person to blame is the legislature that wrote them not the executive that enforces them.

So my idea that many libertarians just want legal weed is being proven? I thought Obama was evil incarnate? But hey if he's for legal weed!?
04-26-2012 , 12:36 PM
No.

The last 25 years of executive power says hi then.

Booby Trap material goes in the Trayvon thread.

Or PM it to bernie. He has massive interest in them.

I read this post but all I see is that cop pepper spraying that group of seated students. Can imagine him saying "don't write the laws, just enforce em."

The deal with marijuana, the way I see it is it's symbolic of government oppression and citizens fighting for freedom. And I see it as one of the last great civil rights battles.

I want all drugs legalized. I want no government.

Did you not see the interview posted above where he explained his position?

Basically he has zero problem with medicinal marijuana but when its being abused and sold to recreational users he and the DOJ has no choice but to prosecute and raid the dispensaries under the current laws on the books.

How about a Lt. Pike update?

http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/...-davis/256058/

The reports have been published. It turns out the protesters had every right to be on the quad that day and the police had no right to disperse/arrest them. oops. There was documentation of this as well. The police knew they had no right to take action against the occupiers.

Lt. Pike violated a number of rules, orders, laws. Not just the pepper spraying.

He gets to keep his job. The evidence against him is not allowed to be considered. Everything related to why he keeps his job stays secret.

So actually, he was writing the laws.

If he has no problem with medical, then he should have no problem with patients, right? Why then the whole thing about gun shops shouldn't sell to patients?

Also, if no problem with medical, why no dispensaries advertising in magazines?

And some people don't consider cops to be higher class.

The end-users aren't really the ones being punished by harsh drug laws.
