It wasn't enough when it happened, and THAT IS ENOUGH for me to freak out over.
There WAS, however, objection... and it was in the March LC thread, a thread in which I would imagine a lot of us don't read every post. I had to go back and find it to see what it was even about. Maybe it would have been the same reaction if it was in The Presidency of Donald J. Trump thread, maybe not, I don't know. But it's not like there was widespread use of it, widespread agreement with it, or no condemnation.

Do not preach to me about the repercussions of sexist lanuage. I need only ONE person to consider me a "drunk whore" here for me to lose my entire sense of self. My chances are 1 in 5. You play poker, do you like those odds??
This isn't your fight, so you don't get it. But I have to worry about it every time I go out. You act like I'm making a big deal out of things- MY CARDS ARE LIVE. 1 in 5. Do you like those odds??
Didn't know that about North Carolina, guess it's another on the list of really ****ty things about one of the GOP-controlled states that hopefully Dems can fix if they ever get enough power.
But to try to create some sort of link between dth's post here and the response to it and those ****ty laws is a huge false equivalence. To try to claim that this politics forum is a sexist hell hole is crazy. You think almost every reg here doesn't vehemently oppose those sorts of laws? Or doesn't factor that type of stuff into voting/demonstrating/volunteering/donating decisions?
