The point is, it should have been a blowout victory regardless of Comey's shenannigans. I guess what I'm saying is we need to focus on what went wrong with the Democratic party that led to Trump being at all competitive. There's a big dysfunction in the party, and focusing on Comey or Russia's meddling is dangerous if it distracts us from looking at the bigger problems.

Parties want people who will predictably stick to the party line and be representatives of the establishment. It's why the GOP actively colluded to work against Donald Trump once he started running away with the votes at the primaries. It's why the Democrats worked to promote Hillary Clinton at the expense of the more progressive Bernie Sanders.

Trump was a freak event that the GOP did everything they could to fight against but lost. We could put up Booker for 2020 and I would definitely support him but it would a Trump-like shot for him to win in the primaries and he doesn't have the head start in celebrity power that Trump had.

Businessmen that have star power like Elon Musk or Mark Cuban would be way better as left-wing populist candidates than somebody from within the establishment attempting to destroy the establishment.
