Oh yeah. North Korea could nuke LA and they would insist on a tax plan vote before doing anything.

David Chalian, CNN "Political Director," called Ryan "A bit of a tax nerd." I don't get it. Tax ******* seems a whole lot more apt.

Briefly saw CSpan, the House was 5 votes short of passage with 20 R votes left to cast.

No surprises though, the NY/CA/NJ Republicans voted against it while all other Republicans voted for it.

This new tax plan is pretty sweet!

Any idea on how long it will be after the Senate passes before one might expect to see changes take effect in pay checks?

One step away from ****in up the whole world. German businesses already call for tax cuts if Trump is successful with his tax plan.

I'm baffled why trump and co didn't start the year with this type of legislation, instead of looking like idiots after McCain steel chaired the health care legislation on the senate floor. This massive tactical error in addition to some of trumps well publicized unforced errors (sgt Johnson family, both sides are bad, etc) makes you wonder how inept some of their advisors must be

If they went first with this, it probably would have failed. The pressure of needing a "win," and needing to deliver something to their donors, was a huge part of whipping the "moderate" vote. (As if there's such thing as a moderate Republican anymore.)

12 CA GOP reps voted for it, those 12 alone could have killed it
