Meanwhile, Trump is just a shining example of honesty . They're also calling her a bigot now. It's like he's just going to attack her for all the things that are the best attacks on him - perhaps in an attempt to make both sets of attacks seem less substantial and just more of the tired, same old politics of any election?
That sounds like exactly what the editor of Breitbart would do.

They're not bad people, folks. They've just been left behind by the economic system and are facing "a great amount of economic uncertainty." Yeah, right. Let's call it like it is: Trump's supporters are some of the worst people we would ever hope to never have to deal with in our lives. Unfortunately, they turn out to be our landlords, bosses, colleagues, and family members far too often.

You know it’s coming. As hyperpartisanship, grievance politics, and garden-variety rage shift from America’s first black commander-in-chief onto its first female one, so too will the focus of political bigotry. Some of it will be driven by genuine gender grievance or discomfort among some at being led by a woman. But in plenty of other cases, slamming Hillary as a bitch, a c**t (Thanks, Scott Baio!), or a menopausal nut-job (an enduringly popular theme on Twitter) will simply be an easy-peasy shortcut for dismissing her and delegitimizing her presidency.

Either way, it’ll be best to brace for some in-your-face sexist drivel in the coming years. Despite progress in the business world, women as top executives still prompt an extra shot of public scrutiny. (Just ask Marissa Mayer or Sheryl Sandberg or Carly Fiorina.) And just as Barack Obama’s election did not herald a shiny, new post-racial America, Clinton’s would not deliver one of gender equality and enlightenment. So goes progress: Two steps forward, one step back(lash). As the culture changes, people resent that change and start freaking out, others look to exploit their fear, and things can turn really, really nasty on their way to getting better.

Raw political sexism is already strutting its stuff. At Donald Trump’s coming-out party in Cleveland, vendors stood outside the Quicken Loans Arena hawking campaign buttons with whimsical messages, such as “Life’s a Bitch—don’t vote for one” and “KFC Hillary Special: Two fat thighs, two small breasts… left wing.” One popular T-shirt featured a grinning Trump piloting a Harley, grinning as Hillary tumbled off the bike so that you could read the back of Trump’s shirt: “IF YOU CAN READ THIS, THE BITCH FELL OFF.”

An 18-year-old Charlotte college student who was ejected from Thursday’s Donald Trump rally says he went from avid backer to disillusioned opponent after Trump’s security staff accused him of being a known protester.

Jake Anantha, who registered as a Republican and planned to cast his first presidential vote for Trump, was wearing a Trump shirt when police removed him from the Charlotte Convention Center before the rally began. He and his father, Ramesh Anantha, say they believe he was profiled because of his dark skin.

“It’s unbelievably ironic,” said Ramesh Anantha, whose parents immigrated from India. He says his son, as a young person of color appearing at a rally where the Republican presidential nominee touted his support for people of color, “should have been looked at as a perfect Trump supporter. He should have been somebody they’re putting up on stage.”

Meanwhile, Obama's playing golf, Hillary's taking a nap or w/e and Donald Trump is down in Louisiana helping to unload supplies for the victims of the terrible flooding.

Interesting to see where people's priorities lie isn't it?
08-20-2016 , 03:50 AM
The supplies are donated by him apparently, 70k lbs worth in an 18 wheeler. Unconfirmed, I'm on a phone.

To the person that said I'm voting: I don't vote. The way I see it, the probability of breaking a tie * the difference in ev is nothing.

But I was informed they literally have nothing left to lose. Like they're living in a war zone, in tattered clothes, pissing in a bucket because the water got shut off. All of them.

Do you have a link for this btw?

They were all told not to go down there due to the diversion of resources. Trump ignore it. I know you want care because right wing propaganda is your life blood, but here you go: http://fortune.com/2016/08/19/donald-trump-baton-rouge/

U.S. Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and his running mate toured the flood-damaged city of Baton Rouge on Friday, despite the Democratic Louisiana governor’s urging not to make political stops in areas affected by recent deadly rains.

Trump’s motorcade drove past piles of possessions and building materials that had been ripped out of flooded homes en route to Greenwell Springs Baptist Church in a flood-ravaged portion of East Baton Rouge Parish.
I'm so sick of this crap. This country is going down the tubes because of people like you who eagerly slurp up bull**** propaganda 24/7. Seriously, **** off for this endless petty bull****.

Just FYI I'm pretty sure at this point that Broadway is an actual troll, i.e. not really a member of the Right. This pretty much gave the game away:

Trumpkins never describe themselves as the far-right, they're always Real America, the Silent Majority. They think they're mainstream. The alternative way of reading it is a sort of self-deprecating humour, which I don't buy is in Broadway's range. And the post itself has a trolling vibe to it and includes suspiciously long words for a Trumpkin.

There's nothing to be gained from engaging him even if he is a real person in any case, so might as well stop it.

no really, it's ******ed. why can't obama play golf?

my brother sent out some stupid email to several family members that was basically some verbatim bull**** from sean hannity about how obama is a "douchebag" for saying some bad things many years ago about GWB not doing enough during katrina, and now louisiana is drowning while obama plays golf, or some nonsense.

care to articulate a legitimate criticism here?

The right seems obsessed with Obama playing golf. It comes up every time there is video of him playing on the news. I sense a racial element to it.

George W. spent half his presidency playing pretend cowboy on his ranch, no one on the right cared. Black guy plays a round of golf, white people get enraged.
08-20-2016 , 08:39 AM
all golf courses/country clubs are populated by rich old white men, most of whom are drinking, and the culture on display generally is definitely very racist/sexist.

take augusta national for example, the host of the most prestigious event of the year (the masters)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/August...onal_Golf_Club

Quote:
The golf club's exclusive membership policies have drawn criticism, particularly because there were no African-American members admitted until 1990,[5] as well as a former policy requiring all caddies to be black, which was omitted from the club's bylaws in 1959.[6] The club began granting membership to women in August 2012. Prior to the acceptance of female members, Augusta National defended its position by citing that in 2011, more than 15% of the non-tournament rounds were played by female players who were member guests or spouses of active members.[7] In August 2012, it admitted its first two female members, Condoleezza Rice and Darla Moore.[8] The golf club has defended the membership policies, stressing that it is a private organization.[9]
^this sort of stuff has been pretty standard at all nice/private clubs

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/martha...b_3607238.html

Quote:
Tiger Woods won’t be playing at the British Open. Muirfield, the club hosting this year’s event, has barred blacks from membership throughout its history, and this year extended the honor to players. Woods appeared disappointed but accepts the decision. “. . . they’re entitled to set up their own rules the way they want them,” he said. “It would be nice to see everyone have an equal chance to participate... but there’s nothing you can do about it.”
08-20-2016 , 08:41 AM
so yes, the stuff about obama playing golf from the right is absolutely, positively, definitely very racist
08-20-2016 , 08:43 AM
you know that didn't actually happen, right? It was a spoof news article lampooning the discrimination against women (which is still terrible and dumb, obv)

Last edited by LostOstrich; 08-20-2016 at 08:44 AM. Reason: referring to Muirfield banning blacks

I suppose it probably does have a racial tinge to it (because pretty much every right wing comment on Obama does), but the Obama golfing thing is just part of a larger right-wing narrative where they attack progressive leaders for trivial and hypocritical things. Trudeau is being attacked up here for vacationing while SERIOUS THINGS ARE HAPPENING. As if these people aren't allowed to have any down time at all.

Nancy Reagan said it well, "Presidents don't get vacations they get changes of scenery."

I love how because Obummer isn't down there personally handing out supplies and sucking up water with a Shop-Vac he's doing nothing.

The LA governor has said they've been coordinating with FEMA near the start of the flooding. The federal govt has provided them with whatever resources they've asked for, they declared it a national state of emergency a couple days after the flood started.

just curious, what part of his job can't obama do outside of the WH?
