I'm not always on the side of "everyone has already made up their minds" but it would be pretty surprising if the handling of emails could change any votes at this point.

I agree that the response should have been playing it down as just more of the same.

Harry Reid is on it, with his Comey's got the goods on Trump and Putin effort, which should work to some degree and give an angle for the Clinton Campaign and surrogates to harp on.

As far as reality and credibility go, Reid doesn't really carry any among the informed, but his attack is smart and should yield some level of effect, if at the very least to add more noise into the entire situation.

People only started questioning Alex when he went from posting here multiple times a day to not posting for weeks exactly when trump was imploding in the polls. It's not good etiquette to say he might welch, but let's not forget this was the context that people brought it up. If he had continued to post at a similar volume no one would have questioned him.

Conventional wisdom is that such a weapon would already have been used because of early voting. It's conceivable that the Clinton team kept close tabs on early voting and were satisfied enough with how it was going that they decided to save a bullet for the final week.
