This is how I see it, takedown-dominant position-GNP finish, possibly a sub if he does enough damage and chooses to take it that way

Added 2u on JDS by dec@+240. Don't think he's gonna KO Hunt. JDS went the distance with Roy and Carwin and while they both took a pounding, I don't think JDS is gonna play very aggressive with Hunt. I think JDS is gonna try and utilize his speed and maintain distance and use a lot of jabs. He's gonna be wary of Hunt's power plus Hunt has a chin. +240 for JDS dec seemed ike super value.
I like this.

Think there's a good chance Hunt gases and JDS finishes him late but I like the price here.

I love Pinny too. If only they had props+early lines, they'd be the bomb obv.

Real shame they don't have props. There's so much money to be made on the props bets, books seem to get them wrong more frequently than the overall bet of whos gona win.

They added some SC2 props after I emailed them, should we organise a set day/time for all of us to send an email to Pinnacle requesting MMA props? If 10+ of us do it on the same day that may get their attention

Should we all do this tomorrow, or a week before the fight or on fight day? What would be most effective?

I'm not sure, earlier is better because they can setup it up because it will probably take some time for them to check out the process and all, but later is maybe better because it's more relevant the closer the fight is and it might become forgotten?

Well if they can cut Fitch they sure as hell can cut Kongo.

The the ufc really have enough horses in the stables to but cutting decently talented guys?

Meh, first thought is HW isn't that stacked, they should prolly keep someone like Kongo, Fitch is easier to understand bc of the division which is already stacked. Though Kongo probably costs them a bit and his last fights have been boring. Only fun fight I recall is the Pat Barry fight. Though definitely feel he is a mid level guy and would beat some of the HW's.

I think UFC is going through some changes, which I don't mind that much tbh. They seem to have the policy:

1. If you're exciting and like to brawl and occasionally win, you'll stay in the UFC, especially if you're a mid level guy, much less likely for low level guys.

2. If you were once a contender and have had +6 fights, and they don't see you as a future contender and your latest fights havbe been boring, then you're cut as your wage is too much and there's new blood coming in anyway. So basically weathering out mid-level guys who aren't exciting.

Leonard Garcia not cut yet? He should be 0-8 in his last 8

Kongo pissed the UFC off by refusing to take two different fights in the last year or so. That might have been part of it.

One of those fights was last year vs Roy Nelson (on short notice after Carwin got injured). Mitrione ended up fighting Roy.

EDIT: I think Kongo fought Cain Velasquez on three weeks notice. I guess he doesn't get credit for that. I would have liked to have seen Kongo vs Struve at some point.

They also want to send a message to their fighters in some way. Be a yes man, do as the company says, or else!
Step up when we call you, don't be boring in the cage.

Kongo is old, he doesn't bring much to the table.

Edit: just read on mmafighting he was offered a 4 fight deal prior to the Nelson fight, maybe UFC doesn't wanna pay him too much or Kongo's foot is out the door.

Exciting jobbers are helpful to your brand, think Justin Gabriel in WWE - they make the guy you want to be on a win streak look good. Now we get to see Cody McKenzie get spectacularly destroyed by some mid level featherweights which in turn makes them look good.

Obviously he's not a UFC caliber fighter but if he's a draw because he 'comes to bang' the UFC won't cut him until they absolutely have to and I mean he can be used to build up exciting low level fighters who would otherwise be cut so whatever. I'd rather see them cut bland low level guys like Levesseur than Garcia even though by strict criteria he deserves to be cut.

HW isn't deep enough to cut Kongo - give him a can and then he can go back to losing spectacularly to contenders, or have him lose to Barry or Struve and then have him fight whoever the worst HW is in the UFC currently to rebuild. Honestly i'd love to see him fight Struve if his jaw is going to be healed in the next few months, idk how long an injury like that takes.

If not, then i'd love to see them make Barry/Kongo 2 so Barry can get his win back regardless of whether Barry wins or loses his next fight (at this stage of their careers i'd def favour him), Kongo can eat one more loss and they can sell it on a PPV main card because playing clips from their first fight would be epic/exciting/draw plenty of buys and you have a built in story for both guys - Kongo is 'he gave me his best shot I took it and knocked him out and i'll do it again' and Barry is 'I want redemption I was destroying him and got caught this time he won't get lucky' plus you can basically guarantee the fight will be exciting because all Pat Barry fights are

Edit: it appears Kongo has been cut, nevermind

I'd rather watch Jon Fitch fight than Leonard Garcia AINEC.

Depends who he's fighting, Fitch's last few fights were all entertaining but that was because his opponents brought the fight to him. Obviously I think we all agree Fitch shouldn't have been cut

Kongo is on a 1 fight losing streak and won 4 of his last 7 at HW with one tie, that's definitely enough in the UFC HW division even with a bunch of lackluster fights imo - he's probably better than guys like Nandor Guelmino who they recently signed and certainly better than Dave Herman who is still on the roster

I just realised that Chris Weidman and Francis Carmont have the same 5-0 record in the UFC. This saddens me. Also how is Camozzi 6-2 in the UFC? I can't wait to fade Carmont and Camozzi against competent opposition.

Variance ldo. If you have a lot of fighters, some lower-level guys will get lucky and win 5 in a row, and if u have some really good ones, sometimes they hit a bad streak.
