Volkonovski should win this.

Wow Volk outlanded him in r5 too didnt seem that way

I have it 49-46 Volk (1-4, and 5 for Max) but enough close rounds its in doubt

Volkanowski completely dominated. He won the strike count in every round and he throws with way more power and did way more damage.

Max still thought after the 50-45 that he won. SMH. I had it 49-46 but 50-45 was probably more correct.

Max will be back. Gotta be more aggro vs Volk and risk being KO'd in order to bully him back and be the aggressor in a rematch

Great fight

I think Volk wants this more than Whittaker did too could end up being a dominant champ if he can beat Max in the inevitable rematch once Max wins one or whatever - I think Volk can handle guys like Zabit, we'll see I guess

Ok let's go Usman make it a small win for the card plz

When it was unanimous I knew Volk had it, although was surprised by the 50-45, maybe I overrated some of the stuff Max landed in r5 - Sherdog unanimously had it 48-47, but with one judge scoring r2 for Max and two judges scoring r4 for Max and all judges having 5 for Max.

I had it 1-4 Volk (but with 1-2-4 being competitive rounds) and 5 Max

Anyway, with Aldo at 135 now (and tbh despite the loss Aldo is fine to stay at 135 he just went to a split decision with the #1 ranked guy) I guess Zabit and the Max rematch are in Volkanovski's future

This must be the longest UFC PPV of all time. At least since UFC 33 which also had 3 title fights, and they all went to a 5 round decision.

Wonder if this late start will affect the fighters at all. It's 1am in Florida. All that poker grinding could pay dividends for Colby.

No chance either guy is affected by the late start, the adrenaline will take care of that - not to mention these two legitimately hate each other

Let's go Usman!

I used to play poker with Usman's brother. He would always get tired around this time.

Usman seems super relaxed/dancing on his way out

No idea if that's good or bad. Hope I got the analysis right that Usman has the better hands and is physically stronger for the wrestling side of things

Mild move back to Colby late, Usman back at 1.50 Pin from 1.4x but still the overall steam was with him

If Usman is clean and he handles Colby here he really could be the WW GOAT - we won't know for a while but the way he handled Woodley I just have to back him here he could be borderline unbeatable if he can replicate that type of performance

Usman is putting in too much volume, he is playing Colby's game, this will end bad for him of he doesn't find the finish imo

Tempted to sell for a slight loss if Usman's hand is hurt but close r1 Usman's punches clearly hurt a lot more but Colby has more volume

Holding for now though

Close r1, Usman landed the better shots but Colby more volume

Usman should shoot in r3. At least see if you can take him down

Another close round, Colby landing more but Usman landing with more power when he does

pretty entertaining, both have very rudimentary striking but whats funny is neither even attempting the td, almost as if they decided to knock each other out.

hope usman loses such a shitty champ

Usman must have tripled his EPO dosage for this fight. Still going strong.

problem with usman trying for td, is that it will add a lot to the gas tank, and he has to think it's 5 rounds, so he not comfortable shooting.

Sherdog gave r1 to Colby and split verdict on r2

Usman needs to keep working the body, look for a chance to shoot, fire off those jabs to the head etc

He's looking a lot better on the feet early in r3

Those body shots are helping a ton in slowing Colby's volume

colby slowing down??
MMA Thread Quote

Good point re gas tank

Now that he's landing the body shots more regularly and has slowed Colby down i'm okay with Usman keeping it at range

Eye poke brutal there

Usually i'd say the rest is good for Usman but who knows as Colby can rest from body shots too

Also with the kick that landed r3 is closeish again still have it for Usman tho prob on the body work

Big Usman steam in play from 1.90 mid r2 to 1.20 now on b365, so clearly market has Usman winning r3 by a lot

Oh wow Colby's jaw might be broken this is done if it is Colby should wrestle if thats the case he cant keep taking shots

Let's go Usman turn his lights out

Lot of heart from Colby to fight on if his jaw is broken but he could easily be up 2 rounds to 1 so doesn't want to quit in a title fight

could see 2-1 to either guy. colby fading though.
