Bet a lot on golden horn. Nyquist ruined my pick 4 plays. I have no action but kinda hope American pharoah loses. Pace scenario is favorable to him but I think tonalist or honor code get him. Older horses are solid and not easy to beat.

So wrong. American pharoah was insane. Probably easily top 3 horse all time no doubt with that performance.

4/6 in PK6 was alive to 5 and alive to the 1,7 in the late PK4 and the 9 knocked me out there.

Played a get out trifecta 1st one i played since Preakness day 08 i think with AP only to win with 1,2,3,6,9/1,2,3,6,9 for $20 so i hit repeat 5 times and i only included the 6 anywhere because of prickly and his post because i still see him going 34 path that one race so could not trust him. Was watching on TS and damn feed went out 2 sec before AP hit wire LOL. That was an awesome performance no doubt. Thanks prickly for throwing Effinex back on my radar

kudos honcho.

this is completely sour grapes but im still annoyed about it since i had a big grab of cash on golden horn but the 2 horse running off on purpose in the BC is a total joke. if i ever see ramsey on behalf of the 2+2 HRT im going to kick him in the dick

Happy trails AP...one of the special ones.
Lost first leg 11 chose 12 cause he had beat him -3 deep that leg. Rattled off last 5 on a $60. 5 deep in Turf. Almost a sweat for big to the champ. Shoulda put a big place bet on Effinex, dam horse.

Hey all,

In the end a fairly predictable BC Saturday. Won some coin, wish it was a lot more. I love to hate to love racing. Spanish wine talking. AP was awesome. I crushed the 9 in place behind him, but also played in show posirion. Sweet tri. Off for awhile now.

Post BC obs i made to myself...I was alive during Big Red's run but never saw him with my own eyes live but have several since then and right now AP is the best horse my eyes have ever saw. Had a few catch my heart through the years but none like AP.

Why the F did i not lean on Tepin more in my exotics to make my losing PK4 ticket less expensive but yet to show my complete ignorance had a WP on her as well but no one else in race.

My own Golden Horn dilemma...Start of PK4 i said i just go ALL,ALL,1,4 catch my prices in the first 2 legs dont try and force anything in the last 2 collect some cash do a little dance get down tonight. After seeing the other Euro i had singled the #3 take a noser out of the gate ala Rags to Riches (same colors btw) and lose by a horse or so i decided i had to add TPM to my ticket but was riding AP in the last.

Why i did not make a larger wager on GH over AP,and i am sure you had your own info pdiggz but i had really none on GH other than he won that big artsy fartsy race in France and def looked head and shoulders above all on track but still if i was going to get about the same price between him and AP i had much more info on AP to make the wager on him.

Had to try and figure out a way to leverage AP because 3/5 i did not want to wager that much on a W because of prior race of his and prior race of the day so came up with what seemed like a reasonable tri and punched it in and saw it was reasonable in the last race to repeat 5x and got lucky because i def was not on the radar of Effinex until prickly brought him back onto the screen for me.

Going to be making a lot more plays this way no doubt because with my ability to cap and find some prices or being able to come here and follow prickly's nugs i should be ok in spots.

Big shout to aph with the gem of a nug on KM and the %'s going into stake races.

Think i was only otb in 1 race with top selection as well so feel pretty solid about that in capping going forward.

Going to watch some football today and give my eyes a break from left turns for a day.....well will try too anyways ;]

You're so right honcho, seeing the great horses live is so much more rewarding than what we see on television. I can't explain the phenomen, it probably means something different to everyone. The first great horse that I saw run was Affirmed. I had seen a lot of races by that time also, but you could see that he ran faster, with less effort, and quieter also. My own recollection of the race is that I don't hear the crowd noise, I'm just tuned into his run. But I know it's loud, i see people cheering, yelling, rooting for him. But to me it's all quiet watching him.

I never got to see Pharoah run. After yesterday's race, I was happy and relieved that it all worked out.

I really think that the owner, Zayat Stable, and even Bob Baffert and his team came to the understanding that the more chances that they could share American Pharoah , the more it benefitted everyone in horse racing.

There were times this year after the Derby where I really couldn't understand the dysfunctional line of thinking that they were taking. But I really feel that to their credit, they put the sport, the fans, and horse racing ahead of there own best interests.

It's good to see, it left me wanting more.

The top 3 performances in my opinion were:

1 American Pharoah- stamping himself as a great champion with his results as the proof.

2 Found, the 3 year old Irish bred filly beating a stellar field of older horses in the turf.

3. Stephanie's Kitten showing the heart of a champion in deep stretch to beat the odds-on choice.

Was a really great day for horse racing and for all the fans complete with a storey book ending.

Hey grenzen hope you had a nice BC day. I have only been to one horse race in person ever and it was the MTB derby and did not see anything really through all the people. Went to a few races at Mt Pleasant Meadows because my folks have property in the area but do not count that as races. No for me live now means my 32 inch monitor through my adw LOL. I puke still several times a day and need to be near my sink or bathroom so i just keep to myself pretty much. Think people might be a little put off getting puked on by someone not even drinking

LW made some nice obs too and each of us i hope took something from this weekend to remember for the positive.

Honcho, how in the world did you ever get started handicapping? It used to be done with the daily racing form you pickup at the liquor store or racetrack.

For me, I grew up in San diego, and would drive down to the race book in downtown tijuana where they didn't c a re about my age.

I enjoy the forum immensely, but haven't been a contributor for awhile. I've been out of the loop a lot, so many responsibilities that I know my selections aren't worth a damn.

Well grenzen this might sound crazy but a few people know this about me and i have posted it long ago but i never had saw a horse race till the 07 Las Virgenes Stakes. I was laid up in bed after they had just took a small football sized liposarcoma tumor from my upper right thigh hip/groin area and for some damn reason flipping through channels i saw this race and the name sounded funny so watched it and when Rags to Riches made that crazy let me go say hi to someone in the stands and still win for fun move it did something to me and i hobbled over to my daughters room and told her to not forget this horses name for me. Fell asleep that night had a crazy azz vision of that horse and my life. Was such a noob i could not understand why she was not running in the KYD because i told anyone who would listen she was going to win it. Well she won for fun in the Oaks and the slop and had some friends starting to believe me. Finally heard she was going to run in Belmont and being poor with 3 kids and a ton of med bills i got up almost 10k and put it on her to W in the Belmont 07. Watched the race and yelled so long and hard no sound was coming out of my mouth. I did not even think about the money till my ex asked me how much did we win because i am not sure i would of ever remembered.

I KNEW and that is the hardest thing to ever verbally try to describe but i KNEW she was going to win like i knew my own name. I never once had any other doubt of any other outcome because i had already saw the race and knew the answers. Did not even know taking a header out of the gate was a bad thing back then lol. Do not blame a single person to ever trust my picks again knowing this but you asked and seems like i never knew anything else now.

Love horses, love horse racing and everything that goes along with it. Days like BC day i hate to have to get to sleep i am so anxious for the next day of races.

Just got done watching the breeders cup races i recorded. Some how i missed Mongolian Saturday's race. Did they televise it? The connections celebrated with the fans for awhile shaking hands taking pictures it was awesome.

Watching AP live was awesome. Glad he went out a winner. Nice to get to see the interviews.

I did not know runhappy's back story he ran an awesome race.

Liam's Map would have been interesting in the classic. Had a horrible trip and still set a record lol

Stephanie's Kitten knocked me out of a multi at Tampa when I should have been waiting til later in the day. I guess was nothing there coming over on Legatissimo 4 paths. Tough to get a kitten taken down in KY. She had it won of course, just wondered if anyone had any comments, guess not I spose p6 woulda paid maybe 30ish if 11 comes down, 3 being more included. Glad you got a piece of Effinex- H.
Really thought smooth roller had something for the champ, we'll see if he runs again.

Yeah, the owner is a notorious a$$hole in the industry(he's had something like 35 other trainers before) . Nothing surprises me anymore in this industry but this is pathetic.

After reading the below comments-accusations from Kara Harrison, there might be a lot more to the story than we know.

several versions of the story out there...like you said above, nothing is surprising in "the sport of kings".

I probably could/should write a book about the things I've seen and heard at the track and various backsides. hahaha

going to the November sale at keeneland next week...i'll check with a few contacts I still have down in Lexington...especially at the training center.

Fame Game #3 going to be tough to beat tonight. Not the best barrier but still would have to be top choice. I also like as possible winners as #6 Hartnell,#10 Trip To Paris,#20 Bondi Beach and an outside shot for #12 Sky Hunter.
