I've seen some good flicks lately...you guys seen any of them?

The Squid and the Whale: indy-type movie about two literary college professors and writers who get divorced and the effect that has on their kids. Sounds boring but it's really not. The most interesting part was the dynamic between the older son and the younger son and how they each relate/get along better with separate parents (older son sides with dad, younger with mom. Anyone with a sibling can relate to this). The dialogue is great and it's sort've a raunchy movie. Oh and Jeff Daniels is in it and he rules.

The Weather Man: Another movie with Nicholas Cage that has awesome dialogue. About a struggling TV weather man who's career is advancing while his personal life is falling apart.

Stranger than Fiction: Will Ferrel (not the typical comedic Will Ferrel although he does have some really funny lines) is a boring IRS agent who starts to hear the voice of a narrator in his head describing his actions and foretelling his death, almost like Will is a character in his own novel. cool movie

Match Point: About an English ex-tennis pro who gets involved in a little love triangle with a wealthy family. It has murder, and ScarJo!

Blue Velvet: apparently this was huge back in the day but I had never heard of it. It's a weird sort've noir movie about the criminal underbelly in a peaceful town.

I'm not sure why I felt like writing that up...

Blue Velvet was really good. Dennis Hopper's infamous scene scarred me for life.

Akon/Rhiana concert tomorrow night in a city 5 hrs from mine. GF is going and I didnt end up going. Shes there with her friends today/night.

She calls me tn and tells me Akon shows up at the mall. Everyone starts freaking out, etc.

His manager points at my Gf and her friends, walks over, takes their names, and says you are invited to a night club after the concert for an after-concert party VIP.
