I'm starting to wonder if getting my own deep table via iron man medals would be worth hundreds of dollars
05-08-2009 , 08:40 PM
Wait for antes imo. My biggest problem is deciding on a level. I kinda want a 1kNL one that I can take shots at when it's fishy heh
05-08-2009 , 08:41 PM
its worth $140.63 assuming that you are normally spending your medals on the $76 tokens. If you get a money seat once and stack a fish then youve already made your money back! (or most of it in your case )
05-08-2009 , 09:12 PM
who are the best ssnl coaches for <200$/hr?

The last month or something, almost all my sessions I have just sat at some empty tables and waited to play, and while it does sometimes take quit a while to get the first opponent to the table (time of day makes a big diff I guess obv), 95+% of the time, when someone does join, the table will be full in 3 hands. Not exagerrating. I guess there are some ppl just sitting waiting to see a table with more than 1 person in it and jump in or something.

Tokens/FT points are really the only thing to buy.

Does playing a sat. for tokens with FTPoints effect your MGR?

i really think expecting other regs to sit in whatever seat is most optimal for you is a bit optimistic and self-absorbed and is certainly a secondary concern compared to your relative position to the people you are actually trying to profit from.

Two highlights of today's solidly meh session.

Playing 36/30/4/12 at a table can result in good things! Managed to induce a light shove from a nitty reg running 15/13 with a 4 % 3 bet over 600 hands.

$1/$2 No Limit Holdem
FullTiltPoker
5 players
Converted at weaktight.com

Stacks:
UTG ($331.05)
CO ($116.80)
Hero (BTN) ($249.60)
SB ($194.55)
BB ($193.00)

Pre-flop: ($3, 5 players) Hero is BTN Q Q
2 folds, Hero raises to $6, SB calls $5, BB raises to $28, Hero raises to $50, SB folds, BB goes all-in $193, Hero calls $143

Flop: 3 Q T ($392, 2 players)

Turn: 9 ($392, 2 players)

River: 4 ($392, 2 players)

Final Pot: $392
BB shows: A 4
Hero shows: Q Q

Hero wins $389 ( won +$196 )
SB lost -$6
BB lost -$193

As this is the regs thread I'll name villain, it was Bagataway.

This bluff was slightly tilt driven (just walked set kings into flopped flush in 3 bet pot) but I still stand by that it's decent, though I'd prefer it if we were slightly deeper.

Villain was reasonably competent running 26/20/2 over 300

$1/$2 No Limit Holdem

Converted at weaktight.com

Stacks:
UTG ($241.95)
CO ($200.00)
Hero (BTN) ($237.05)
SB ($181.60)
BB ($47.00)

Pre-flop: ($3, 5 players) Hero is BTN 9 T
1 fold, CO raises to $7, Hero calls $7, 2 folds

Flop: 6 8 J ($17, 2 players)
CO bets $12, Hero raises to $34, CO calls $22

Figure he never has a set or decent flush draw as he'd 3 bet flop

Turn: 5 ($85, 2 players)
CO checks, Hero bets $52, CO calls $52

Bit worried about him jamming turn with tp/overpair with a decent f draw but If I check it's to give up unless I spike a 7 or q

River: 5 ($189, 2 players)
CO checks, Hero goes all-in $144.05, CO folds

He never has a boat at this point or a flush as he'd jam turn with it, most likely has an overpair /tp type hand with a diamond that will hate life If I shove, so I do.

Final Pot: $189

Hero wins $330.05 ( won +$93 )
CO lost -$93

Is my thinking off or is this a half decent bluff?
05-08-2009 , 10:36 PM
I play 2/4+, and I dunno about the regs @ 1/2, but most every reg who actually starts deep tables I would hate to have on my left. Even if the fish is directly on my left, I would never start a deep table. Even the bad regs who start deep tables 3bet enough to where I will not be able to play my style profitably. Also, it is fairly accepted and should be a standard imo that regs are respectful of position when starting deep tables against regs. If not then there will be little incentive to start a deep table knowing you'll be oop to a good reg when you actually get deep. Plus it justifies infinite seat moving and me switching seats on them, which probably also hurts the games.
05-08-2009 , 10:51 PM
yeah i wasn't really thinking of 2/4+ when i made my comments but i definitely see how much the issue depends on your individual style of play and the skill level of your opponents

Sometimes. Haven't been in awhile. Prob will go again once the law is finally implemented and play some drunken 2-100 spread since I can actually stay the whole night.
05-08-2009 , 11:39 PM
i may start short stacking no joke. I cannot beat 6max anymore.

Bagataway is anything but nitty. he's more like a 24/20 3b 7-9% type player.

i was thinking about this the other day and i came to the conclusion that theyre waiting to gather a good amount of data on the amount of points regs can earn by repeating tons of challanges like Harman's over and over. i think we're shooting ourselves in the foot by doing it cause theyre just gonna come out with a store that has huge scaled up prices.

Gotta love aggro images. This is a nitty reg who had cold 4bet me like 3 times w/in 6 or so buttons (to be fair I think I 3bet isoed fish 5 or so of those buttons). He folded to a shove before, then this:

This is exactly what I thought too.

FTPDoug said (like a week and a half ago) that the store prices are within a matter of weeks; now, how many weeks is anyones' guess.
