I'll sit at deep tables and sit out until fish show up. Not much incentive for me to sit and trade blinds with one of you guys.

Basically want to be able to start and stop and give commentary like a training site vid. HALP
Just play your normal session and have Camtasia or whatever you are using record 4 tables, with the sound off.

Later, play back the 4-table vid. Using Camtasia with sound to record the section of the screen where the vid is playing while you add commentary, with the play/pause buttons off screen. Play/Pause as necessary.

Basically your real video is a video of you watching a video.

except that the fish are a lot more likely to sit if they see action in stead of someone sitting out.

This is an excellent way to have the fish look at the table, say "WTF are these clowns doing?" and choose another table.

Man the **** up and play like 20 hands of HU.

lol @ bitching about me trying to help other regs start a table.
05-08-2009 , 04:29 PM
if i was starting a table I'd rather not have people take up a seat and sit out. whenever that happens i always leave and go to a new empty table.
05-08-2009 , 04:31 PM
wow karem27 just owned me so hard at a deep table
05-08-2009 , 04:32 PM
I would say 90% of the time I start a deep table a fish sits down as opposed to a reg. the other 10% when a reg sits or I sit with a reg we play HU for maybe 5 minutes before the table fills with fish because no other reg will sit.

I often just take a long time before making any actions too. this equates to less hands played vs reg and more time for fish to see the table. last night I was on a couple non-deep tables because of mega donks and at one point two of those tables had TWO fkng short stackers on them.

would you rather play a few hands vs regs every now and then or sit with a SS?
05-08-2009 , 04:49 PM
haha...yeah so I was starting a deep table with a reg today and TakeUrCheese sits in to my direct left. first time I've ever had a 3rd reg sit down. wp sir.
05-08-2009 , 04:50 PM
I managed to extract almost 30 big blinds by hitting a gutshot against a donk's set!

Christ I suck.
05-08-2009 , 04:55 PM
Hell, most regs aren't even great hu players. Especially if there are not many tables w/ 2 or 1 empty seats going, you can start a deep hu game and expect to play maybe 20 hands hu. The value once you start up the deep game far exceeds the small loss in ev you get through playing w/ a better reg

hi ssnl,
I moved back to ssnl from msnl because i absolutely suck at poker
my leaks
- 3bet way too much out of the blinds
- call too much preflop
- raise too much dry flops
- station all fishy lines
- totally not positional aware
- 4bet way too much
- call too much 3bets and get owned when everybody has premiums
- flat too much 4bets
- stack off way too lightly

well i can still make moneys at nl100 and 200

yeah i was starting a table 5 handed at 200 and 400nl, and a deep 200 table, he sits to my left on all 3 and wouldnt move, so i just played my SB and sat out.

Me too and I really can't see how anyone would think this is helping start the table or thinking the other reg appreciates this.

i am one of your fish. so rather than play cash games hardly at all anymore, (although I'll till read this thread) i just play $3.50 + .30 super turbo sit n gos.

It's the first time I've ever been a winner after a large sample.

Congrats! Time to give the cash games a try again, you probably improved.

him sitting on your direct left is not that bad. i don't think he's that loose/crazy anyway and you get more open seats to your right.
05-08-2009 , 06:06 PM
btw. whats the reason for people not playing the deep tables at ftp? its just so annoying that there are only like 10 deep tables running at 1/2 and 2/4. also shortstacker shouldn't be allowed to open up tables tbh.
05-08-2009 , 06:13 PM
why do some of you complain about regs sitting on your left? wouldn't you much rather have position on weaker players? if they sit on your right it seems like they'd be taking a spot you'd prefer a fish to sit in

sure it'd be optimal if regs always sat directly across from you when starting a table, but i don't understand why someone having position on you is a big deal unless you're the fish they're trying to make money from.

i really think at ssnl having solid players to your left is probably the last thing you should be worrying about.

Squeezing regs to isolate fish who are bad enough to call 3-bets=profit

But really it depends on the kind of reg and the kind of fish. Nitty regs vs aggro regs. Spastic fish vs tagfish vs passive fish. Having a good reg to your left sucks esp when there are passive players, nits and fish at the table (often the case).

This.

In 2006 the best place to have the reg was to your left. In 2009 you want the reg to be 2 to your left, meaning when you have the CO and when you have the button (the times you isolate the most), he is OOP to you.
