Remodeling and decorating our house is so complicated. I have never even picked the color for a wall yet, and now we have to pick floors, ceilings, wall types, paint, fireplace type, toilet, heating, etc etc. Not to speak of buying furniture for a house that only exists in our minds.

Also; nice furniture is ****ing expensive. All the couches we like are €10k+, dining chairs are 1k. I need to make more money asap .

Craigslist for buying anything is always my first stop these days. It's amazing what people part with for little to no cash. Refrigerators, turkey burners, and pots are all things I've bought semi recently for a huge discount.

Our rule is that we will ne er buy brand new furniture again, save for soft items (mattresses, couch etc. as those can have fluids and such on them). All solid furniture will most always be 2nd hand. Craigslist and patience.

yeah you can easily get a really good 3seat/2seat couch combo for ~5k, tops. at least that's what it is here. i got a very comfy couch combo for ~2k (reduced slightly in price in a sale).

Comfy yes but goodlooking not so much. We have expensive taste. I guess we will sit on this IKEA couch for a year or two longer.

I think we will buy oak and some steel and have some guys make the table we like for 800 or so instead. I think they can also make closets.

get a V12 engine with a glass table top!

The markup on new furniture is like 300%+.

You're a poker player. NEGOTIATE!
