I'm relatively new to PLO. I'm playing 50/$1 6m games at stars. I sincerely don't mean to make this post BBV-ish and I'm just genuinely curious if I'm getting owned or making good folds or what. Anyway, I run into this somewhat commonly:

I have some suited ace hand OOP 3 or 4 ways. Say A9xx

Flop: QT4 Pot = $12
Hero leads $10, UTG calls, 2 folds

Turn: 5 Pot = $32
Hero bets $25, UTG calls

River: 5 Pot = $82
Hero checks, UTG bets like $25-$65, Hero folds

Is this standard/ok? I feel so stupid/angry/whatever when this happens because I just don't know. Assume UTG isn't some ****** spazz and is playing pretty normal

Another similar situation is if I flop a nut straight with some redraw and I press action the same way. The river completes a draw I don't have an I c/f. (I guess this would be a better one to have made up initially, but oh well)

if you c/f every scary river, the regs will notice and start taking advantage of you, but in a vaccuum it is OK to fold rivers like that one. Although b/f is better sometimes situationally -- then you give them the chance to call you with the KdJdxx.

Like Jbird said, ok in a vacuum but if you do it all the time people will notice. This particular hand it's hard to imagine he floating the flop and turn just to bluff a scare card on the river. That being said, I bet full pot on the turn and lead the river or check with the intention of calling any river bet. By c/f the river, you are letting him bluff at you much cheaper than if you lead out and he has to raise.

so if it ok to b/f half my remaining stack? i mean they aren't bluffing but it seems kinda spewy whenever i end up doing it

If you do that (bec you put him on K or Q high flush and bet for value) you have to call if he shoves the rest.

Check calling this river is ok. The times they show up with the full is covered by the time they 'bluff' with lower flushes.

is this true at 50/$1 where it's not a super aggro game?

Part of the problem with your example is it doesn't include stack sizes so they can't be taken in to consideration. I was just advocating naming your price on the river. For example, if you are willing to call a 50$ bet, then just go ahead and lead 50$. If villain is still capable of bluff raising you at that point then bravo to them. You are a lot more likely to get bluffed when you check that river than when you lead it so it lowers the likelihood of you folding the best hand.

Fu, PLO: just fu.

130k+ hands, every fn time money went in at flop I was the favorite, and still I'm down 34k+. It's over with this game.

not that I don't think you're exaggerating greatly, but this would be quite a leak

Havent bothered to verify this this, but the palomar club in san diego supposedly has regular live 25-25 HA 25-50 and 50-100 plo. LOL at san diego have the highest stakes PLO in USA card room on regular basis. It is in a decent neighborhood.

go to b& m forum, in this thread http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/27...50/index7.html post 92 is from a guy who plays there. 25/50 is $25-$50 not $.25-$.50

the Palomar game is supposedly fairly good action at times but has a lot of regular pros in it that are very friendly with each other; not that they collude, but from the times that I have played with those guys in Vegas/LA, it just seems like they never play big pots against eachother, etc..

that said, I might be moving to SD in the near future and will def report back after checking out the game..
