Berbatov,

1st hand is a check/fold without an incredible read on his ability to turn made hands into bluffs coupled with his frequencies for doing so...Preflop, I'd probably 3bet this hand a high % of the time but your flat is definitely fine

2nd hand, you can lead, c/r, and c/c the flop with this hand...after flop checks through, your hand is likely good, your flush is better than average and I'd probably lead here for value; if I lead turn depending on the dynamic I'd bet the river for value or just c/f, and rarely b/c vs. some opponents; With the way you played the flop and turn, the river play is kind of sketchy. I'd probably call as a default, but the right play could be c/f, b/f, c/c, b/c, c/r depending on who you are up against.

Ok lets keep the microstakes discussion imo..

Is it normal that the action postflop in plo is kind of more geared towards stud style than holdem style? I mean like, in the differences of aggressor on each street depending of a change in boardtexture..

I mean like. I have AA**ss and we're HU. Flop is A56 with 2 spades. I keep on being the aggressor. the turn is a 7 non-spade, and opponent bets into me, I call. River is a board pairing or a spade. Opponent check-folds.

I guess im trying to illustrate that PLO seems to be more like a drawing game like razz or stud than holdem..

Another thing. Does anyone want to exchange MSNs or something? I really need a mentor who I can come to for advice and discussion and maybe some live railing.. Would be great for me, and possibly an opportunity for the giving end to get some practice in before a possible coaching career or something like that
Just throwing it out there

Wow, Nemo your spoiling me imo. I guess I cant depend on getting such great answers forever though.. Thanks alot guys!

And I guess I am depending too much on the preflop raiser to CBet. I think I need to adjust to that, cause I see alot more Cbets in holdem and Ive kinda gotten used to it I guess..

Berb,

It's probably better not to clutter up this low content thread. If you have questions about a hand or a concept, just post a new thread. To answer these last questions in here, yes it's more of a drawing game and definitely develop a leading game.

could you explain some spots where leading flops is good
***March Low Content Thread*** Quote
03-26-2009 , 12:40 AM
It's hard to specify one default spot where I would always lead because it's all situational. Think of it like this. Go about developing your leading range in the same fashion you would a cbet range. Think about what you are trying to accomplish with your lead and how the later streets will play based on your lead and how the opponent or opponents may react. Consider the strength of your preflop range in comparison to your opponent's and how each hits certain flop textures. If you incorporate an effect leading range, it's just another tool you have to pick up pots.

are you ever doing it in spots where, when called, you have say <20% equity?

Yes, vs. a lot of guys I employ it in an exploitative manner purely to pick up pots on dry boards that will not hit either of our hands that often. With that said, generally I'm thinking about what I'm going to do on turns if I get called so I factor in backdoor draws quite a bit as it gives me another card I can use to put heat in on the turn. You have to figure out what they are floating your leads with as well. A lot of guys will float your lead once with weak tp and fold to turn action. Once you determine what types of hands they are floating with you can start figuring out more turns that you can profitably bet again. Vs. the better players, definitiely balance it more. Being balanced typically lends itself to being able to play the later streets more effectively anyways.
