i lost my roll or big chunks of it plenty of times troughout my career and i never tilt or go on a binge - no i do it the other way round i might wake up one day go buy myself a cup of coffee and just randomly sit down at the highest stake i can find only for the kicks. sometimes i win and it is all fun and games..sometimes i lose and there is no anger there is no disgust nor would i ever dream of hurting myself or any living thing.

Nothing is left it is a blanket and its another day in my life.

I'd rather lose 100k knowing i played good then 20K playing the worst poker of my life.
I think its fascinating the kind of view i have on life and games, like poker, because i know many of the things i do or think are rather peculiar.
i do realise this is far from optimal from a BR building perspective and the only reason im still in the game is help from friends and willingness to grind alot [at lower stakes]

edit: just felt like typing this out , dunno what the moral of the story is? i assume there is a good reason why most normal people out there , and indeed even a big % of gamblers feel great distress when they lose big parts of their net worth.

I thought you meant girlfriend, that would've been rather disturbing.

In all seriousness now, you need to end the destruction right here right now. Withdraw all your funds and don't play any poker until you get a hold of yourself again. Go do something FUN in the meantime, something that takes your mind off the cruelty and the deep, deep lows that poker can bring at times. When you do find your composure again, you will realise there's a huge difference between 25k and.. nothing. Just don't be a dumbass and squander it all.

Hey man sorry about your losses. You gave me some really good advice here recently (along with many others, thank you! ) Really just get off the internet for a few days, it will do you a world of good. This is really just a game we play on the internet and nothing to take so so seriously. Even if the money is important. I know it sounds silly to cash out after a big loss but I'd say cash out at least 5k if you really just have 6 in your bank account. Good advice there I think trust me, and go have fun with some of it. Take some friends out for dinner and drinks or something and get ripped. You have plenty for 2/4 3/6 still and if you can stomp those games then just do it. I'm on a 90k downer too and have even less online. But screw it I'll get it back eventually, and so will you!

I've had some more time to think about it, and even though I've done this before way to much, all I really wasted was time if I get it back (and we will!) and hopefully we learned something to make us better next time back. The one thing I've always been good about, which I think you should add into your game is just constantly cashing out. For all the dumb **** I do I am a cash out nut, and any time I'm winning money is being shipped my way. Really is the one thing that saves my degenerate self from playing 200 400 and losing it all. Anyway cheer up and take a break, then come back and go on a super heater!

I think a lot of you guys would have the same or higher annual EV with a lot less variance if your practiced better game selection.

If you are playing at all close to the limits of your roll, make sure there's actually a fish in the game.

Yeah I know all of that, just saying. I have stuff like that and I just post them in ssplo. This is seriously gross but coming from silvio it's almost standard. No clue how silvio wins 3ptbb/100 he is so bad

that would be, fortunately i know i'm not the type to ever do that for any reason. i just punch the wall and throw the (plastic) fruit bowl at a shelf and maybe kick a door or two. it's more throwing a tantrum like a 5 year old than anything

thanks for all the advise guys, gonna take some time off just clear my mind- withdraw some money and enjoy it irl for once. hit the gym and hopefully learn something from my mistakes. come back play 2/4 and do that withdrawing regularly thing that don key37 suggested. hopefully that'll stop me taking too many shots like i've always done. sucks that i've to stay at midstakes cuz i really wanna play higher and i know i can win but w/e i could do without the stress for now. at least if i stay down i can withdraw and spend money which will be nice for a change...
