emailing sites about players using a VPN when they aren't and having their accounts get temporarily locked out of playing while they have to send in all their information (and worry that random, ****ty, non-stars site will just **** up and close/lock an account because they aren't stars), ya, that seems like a pretty douchey thing to do.

i don't understand the logic of hating people because they VPN. a country makes a stupid law for a non-violent offense. person breaks that law, doesn't hurt anyone. you may as well call weed smokers scumbags.

I'm suddenly feeling a lot less sympathy for SRP, lol

OTOH, so what if he threatens to out VPN-people on the forums? Can't he just contact the sites directly? What does banning him here accomplish?

well it depends on where scoot wants to draw the line. starsreg is attempting to tarnish a well respected person on the forums just to make himself a spectacle. i can see why scoot would want to draw the line there

he has also lied and said a lot of other controversial things.

Well no, then they wouldn't be doing something illegal. If they VPN from the USA they are deliberately breaking the T&C. How is that not frowned upon?

Secondly, you really think it's fair to all the people that had to turn into livepros or actually move their whole life to another country in order to keep playing online poker?

Lastly, it just gives more ammo to the anti gambling movement in the USA if it ever becomes public knowledge that people have been breaking the T&C and Stars didn't do **** about it because the worlds biggest pokerforum decided to deny someone the opportunity to out these scumbags.

Or well it might be that SRP was just trolling. If so forget everything I just said

i mean the non violent offense that hurts no one is a terrible argument. multi accounting, hacking accounts, chip dumping, best handing, and hole card sharing arent scummy then

I would never place those above examples alongside VPNing kmont. Those are things you do to gain an unfair edge/basically steal from people. VPNing has to do with having the rug pulled out from under you at some point, and not being able to or wanting to leave the country because the entire rest of your life is already based where you live.
***High Stakes PLO BBV Thread*** Quote

are you not therefore stealing from the people who did make the sacrifice to leave the country and follow the terms and conditions?

Why do you care about VPN's? How can it hurt the games?
I think it's pretty bad for poker that governments did alot to prevent online poker to be global.
I don't see the issue with player staying in the US and playing in other sites using VPN.

well vpn clearly hurts the games because the only people vpn'ing are regulars

What if, when I smoke weed I play a lot better.

Would you report me for smoking weed because that's illegal and I gain an unfair edge?

i agree w kutty2. someone who play from usa would be cheating against pokerstars rules, not against the players.

i dont think stars terms and service covers what drugs you may or may not use while playing

if you're gonna vpn indiscreetly enough that you can be outed by some random guy on twitter, then you're pretty stupid. if you're the random guy outing ppl, you're pretty pathetic.
