good job doing something like searching for all instances of the word "die" and not checking any of them to see what they say. there's like 2 of those that are actually people breaking the rule, then there's people who are obviously not breaking the rule for almost every other one.

perhaps you are complaining about the lack of moderation or inconsistency of moderation on issues like this? the mods do not read every post in every forum, and at least somewhat rely on the assistance of the members of the site to find instances of people breaking the rules. so please, hit the notify button when you see someone out of line!

It's not a big thing, but pretending that such an exclamation is the mother of all sins on 2+2 when it's obvious that similar statements are made ALL the time without consequences, it gets a bit silly...

Maybe graph was abbreviated. I can't remember. I didn't think it was terribly offensive, but without going into the details of the circumstances, I thought the "die" was better deleted. Another place, another time, I would have let it stand - maybe wouldn't have even noticed. I can't say any more than that because it involves a private message interaction I had with another poster that (so far as I am concerned) is just between that poster and me.

Deleting the "die" post was a judgment call. I'm going be making many judgment calls. From my own perspective, some of them are pretty close. It's not exactly like black or white to me - I see some black or white, but also a whole continuum of grey.

It's not that there is anything wrong with the word "die." I've tried to make it clear that abusing another poster on this forum is inappropriate. It's not entirely what the poster intends, but how also how the words used will be perceived.

From my perspective there are some great posters on this site. But there are also some nasty, mean, hateful posts. It's not always easy for me to tell when you're joking and if that's all right with the person who is the butt of your joke.

At any rate, deleting the post with the word "die" was a judgment call. I'm neither apologizing for it nor defending it. For better or worse, rightly or wrongly, it was something that seemed right to me at the time and something I did.

Now let's move on. I'll try to do a good job as moderator here while Felicia is recovering. But I'm human and sometimes I'll probably make mistakes. If I do, I'll try to correct them.

Buzz, you seem like a both intelligent and good-natured human being so I think I'm going to let this rest from my side. I just find it kind of strange that you'd interpret it as being mean spirited when he asked for a graph immediately after saying 'die'. But I concede that it can be difficult to interpret intention and tone on an internet forum, and if you're not frequenting BBV/NVG etc. you might not be familiar with how common similar statements are on 2+2.

I'm ok with him too if for nothing more than the humor factor. I still have a hard time believing this guy is for real at deleting stuff you would find in a G movie. This should be quite fun.

Also, for the record, if it matters, anyone can post any abuse directed my way. In other words, please don't delete anything directed my way. I can take it, they are just words on a good internet poker discussion forum.
