I hate lawnmowers for the same reason. don't like a blade moving that fast and that close to my feet.

Metal in my mouth.

Anytime I feel the metal of a spoon or fork touching my teeth it makes me want to cry, I hate the feeling more than anything. I fear I am going to have an involuntary reaction, my mouth will clench up and I will smash my teeth.

Bees.

When I was 6 I was outside the house and either fell or jumped into a row of these fruit bushes we had out back. Unbeknownst to me there was a hornets nest around there and I was stung seven or eight times before making it back in the house. I developed a st-st-stutter because of it and after a couple weeks my mom took my a speech therapist because she was worried I'd have it forever. Supposedly it went away on it's own after a couple months. I must have blocked the entire thing from my memory because I don't remember being stung or having the stutter but ever since I've had an unnatural fear of them.

We moved into a townhouse back in the fall of 2005. Two weeks after we moved in, we're sitting watching tv and we hear a clanking against the patio door. Opened the shades and there was the largest bee I've ever seen banging against the glass door. Ended up being a Cicada Killer wasp.

In the fall of 2006 I killed 4 of them. I would turn the patio light on to lure them out where they would bang against my shed door next to the light. Big *******. Supposedly the males can't sting or something and females will only sting if you really really provoke them but they freak me the hell out so I just wasted them.

Haven't seen any around since.

I'm afraid of fish. They don't blink and that freaks me out.

I can't touch fish and rarely eat any.

Worms. They are asexual so I assume that the sliminess of a worm is basically worm cum.

Bugs. All of them. Even butterflies, they may look all cute and pretty and stuff, but that's just a front -- they're still bugs, don't let them fool you.

I check sneakers that I leave in my garage before wearing them. I check under the sheets on my bed before getting in just in case something crawled up under them.

But, not so uncommon

Short of that, some things bother me, but they don't scare me.

I wouldn't say this is a fear of mine, but the fact that you are in a very vulnerable situation when drinking from a fountain has definitely crossed my mind. Someone could definitely smash your face/head into it if they wanted

For some reason when I'm standing behind people, I sometimes imagine them taking out a knife and stabbing me. Sometimes it's a needle in the eye instead of a knife in the gut.

Doesn't happen often and it doesn't freak me out much, but I think it's really weird that I only think about it with people that are looking away.

yah i would think people standing behind and planning to stab you in the back would make much more sense.

This is not really that unusual but I hate the feeling of being trapped, in a small space or in a crowd.

The most unusual fear I have is of door handles or electronics. Especially when it is cold and dry I am prone to getting shocked. This one time when I was still in college, I went to change the station on our old school TV and literally got shocked 4 times in a row, back-to-back-to-back-to-back. I was scarred for life afterwards. Usually I can tell if I'm going to get shocked. There were times when I knew I was going to get shocked I stand by a door for 10 seconds before gathering up the courage to touch the door handle.

I have (had?) the toilet fear like others, but in my case it's that I'd be sodomised with a broom-like object while sitting down. I believe this arose from a story here in NZ about some teenagers who sodomised another teenager with a broom.

if anything, getting blood drawn via needle + syringe

only happened once like 12 yrs ago, but I almost went into shock with just a small syringe worth. Went pale + cold sweat + hyperventilating like a little girl.

don't get put into a hospital or sent to the ER ever or you're out of luck lol.

i think i've developed and lost a few during my life. and i think it helps that i'm pretty absent-minded. i just forget about them eventually.

When I'm sneaking up behind someone to smash their face into the drinking fountain I worry that they'll turn around and look into my eyes.
