Please nobody say Shia Lebouf.

Christian Bale.

He's in every other movie being made now and being cast in other movie's series. Only makes sense for him to be the next Bond.

Sam Neill might work well. From the time he did Event Horizon.

Bale was the first name I thought of but it wouldn't happen with another successful franchise. Clooney is basically the real-life Bond but he's too old now and nobody would see him as "Bond", just "Clooney", so that wouldn't work.

Outside the box: Taylor Lautner. Has a young fan-following, maybe too young though and "boyish" even though he's all shredded. But can play killer and lover which is what Bond needs. Doesn't fit the "black Irish" type traditional Bond look but neither does Craig and that worked out OK.

I voted Craig bec he's an out and out bad-ass Bond and looks like a tough mofo secret agent/killer. Connery had the advantage of being in ground-breaking movies playing a ground-breaking character but the problem is that he was up against silly villains and the plots that went along w/ it. Plus the special effects from the old films are lol although of course that's not his fault.

It would prob have to be someone in their 20's now since Craig will prob be playing Bond for the next 10-15 yrs unless he gets tired of that char.

Finally someone with my viewpoint esp. on Craig. I'll just add that Bond uses gadgets, glib guile, charm and the odd Walther PPK to get what he wants. Those foot chases and fights while technically impressive became so repetitive. Finally and most importantly James ****ing Bond would NEVER fall in love with any woman who was not perfect let alone with a woman who would double cross him. (or have his nuts crushed ffs... wtf was that anyway?)

Of course Connery is the best. After that I'd go Brosnan, then Moore, then Dalton, then Lazenby. But I might be biased since I'm of the age where I grew up with Brosnan as Bond and then watched all the other movies.

It will be interesting to see how Craig's stint plays out. I thought he was absolutely perfect in Casino Royale, and still solid in Quantum of Solace (though the movie sucking hurts how I view his performance). If he has a few more performances anywhere near his in Casino Royale, then he'll be the second best behind Connery. But he could end up having a few poor movies and be behind Moore.

Cliffs: Connery > Brosnan > Moore > Dalton > Lazenby. I'm going to project Craig as ending up as the second best Bond when his time is over.

I know, right? It's not like Vesper Lynd has been Bond canon since Ian Fleming invented the character, or anything.

I think of James Bond as a union of brutality and charm. But, I don't think anybody has actually pulled that off other than Connery. Craig is brutal but not charming, most of the others are charming but not brutal.

grew up in the 90s so I'll have to go with Brosnan. Love Craig tho, he makes a very tough/animal spy.

What the ****, Daniel Craig has more votes than Timothy Dalton, Roger Moore or Pierce Brosnan.
Craig is 2nd worst or the worst bond character / he has the ****tiest plots and bond movies.
People these days..

IMO it goes
Connery >> Moore >>> Brosnan >>> Dalton >>>>>>>> Craig/Lazenby

Lazenby is just weird b/c he is like a fake actor and was only in one movie, though I guess I would have to re watch OHMSS to see if my opinion has changed .

So for me, its easily between Moore, Connery, and Brosnan.

I will say most "bond like" is: Connery> Moore = Brosnan > Lazenby > Craig > Dalton

Moore and Brosnan may seem like polar opposites. One being cool, the other being goofy, but I honestly feel like bond is 50/50 cool and childlike screwballer.

I always wished Dalton did more movies. The Living Daylights is prolly one of my top ~7 bond movies, unfortunately License To Kill was a messed up movie. Also, Brosnon was good, but the only good movie during his era was Goldeneye (which I also would consider top ~7 bond film).
good post

Connery is the ****ing man. He started his acting career literally next door to my flat

He's already 6 years and 3 films into his stint. No way they're still using him in 10, let alone 15 years. He's 44 years old and they just don't use those characters that long.

Casino Royale was great, even though the mechanics of the poker game were obv. lolworthy. But that 2nd film he made was terrrrrrible. I don't remember a single scene from it. Actually, I remember a boat and I think a brown haired lady.

I voted "hate those fake ass movies," but the truth is the only Bond I actually liked enough to watch a second time was Casino Royale. There was something about the girl in it that just made feel warm inside. And obviously the poker theme made it really cool. I would have to say Craig is my favourite.

Sean Connory is an oldfag. Me no like.

Vesper Lynd has great tits if you haven't seen them. I'm guessing you have though since you sound like a male mammal and you clearly are on the internet.

I didn't realize he's that old but he's def got at least 2 more movies left if he wants to keep playing Bond. That should cover another 4-6yrs so the next person would have to be in their mid/late 30's now.

I was thinking of Jason Statham but just checked and found out he's older than Craig.
