slaw is terrible. it's one of those things that I can't believe ever got invented or that people like.

they used to force it on us in grade school for lunch. into the trash it went. what moronic school administrator would ever think kids want to eat that crap for lunch?

20-25 years ago, I remember having a meal at the Seattle airport, the fish market, I think? Their slaw had slivers of pickled ginger (like you get with sushi) in it, and it was excellent. First time I can ever recall enjoying slaw on the side.

Suprised this Pittsburgh classic hasn’t come up yet in our slaw/sandwich thread. In a way doesn’t seem that appealing but I’m sure it would be. Sliced meats check, vinegar based coleslaw check, fries check, sliced Italian bread check. What’s not to like.

Primanti Bros is great when you're hammered, but the sandwich lacks a little.

The fries are usually soggy as they don't fry, pull & hold for 2 minutes to drain excess moisture, re-fry to get that fresh Fry crisp. You're left with a handful of Medium cooked, unsalted fries. The coleslaw is also "missing something". The sandwiches as a whole have that "missing a little seasoning" taste unless you choose a highly seasoned meat.

The last time I had primanti bros, there were about 20+ meat combinations. The best for this sandwich is the pepperoni & egg, italian, and the fried fish option works pretty well.
