Nothing too exciting, but tastes good, healthy, and can be added to a bunch of meals as a side to bulk them out.

Red+green cabbage, carrot, apple, red onion, fresh and pickled chillies, vinegar, greek yogurt, and wholegrain mustard.

the thing about our modern era and all the different opinions we have these days is you get people feeling very strongly on certain issues

sometimes they have a real basis for it, other times it's more guttural emotion

it never ceases to amaze me despite all of this, we don't have an army of anti slaw people, i need a people to form into a violent militia to rid the world of this blight

Let's put the gut back into guttural.

I have been staunchly anti-slaw for my entire life. Until recently. Slaw on pulled pork sandwiches is great. I have been persuaded.

Y'all just reminded me I had to make some SLAW. Had a small red & green from the farm that I originally used for stuffed cabbage and had enough left for some SLAW, which I plan to use for fish tacos tomorrow.

RED, the recipe is Red, Green & Carrots with:
1C mayo
Fat squirt of dijon
A little white and apple cider vin, about 1T+ total
Celery seed
Lemon juice
S&P

Nothing wacky, just straight SLAW.

Edit:

I grew up on terrible slaw. liquid bland watery messes.

Crunchy fresh slaw is awesome

Ain’t no shame in the slaw game. I’m enjoying this unexpected turn. Keep it up.

just an fyi, i see what you think happened happen, and it wasn't used as "gut feeling" but caveman grunting as that's the best possible visualization for someone who ignores all available science on certain issues

i like you, you're a great poster, but you have a habit of these passive snide comments where a good chunk of the time it's not the biting jarb you thought it was but rather simply demonstrates your own misunderstanding - it feels almost schadenfreudesqe and you'd probaby be happier in life if you learned to stop tagging idiots and just enjoy your own life a bit more

I have also been anti-slaw my entire life; every time I ordered a pulled pork sandwich I made sure I said "no slaw."

Several years ago I "had" to finish a bbq sandwich my wife was eating that had slaw on it. It was even better than the one I had just eaten without slaw. I now make a slaw exception at that one bbq joint; AFAICT their slaw is simply chopped cabbage and nothing else.

I despise slaw dripping with mayonnaise and will not contaminate my bbq with that mess.

With rickroll and Tom on the slaw issue. Mostly that I dislike mayonnaise, the other stuff in there is fine, I'm sure.

Yeh, I love a lot of vinegar with mustard/hot sauce. Use a bit of yogurt to keep it together, but don't want the cups of mayo I see in recipes.

we're usually team straight cabbage on things like tacos, perhaps with some citrus and/or vinegar added, but i don't mind a pile of mayo slaw next to baked beans on a cookout plate.
