You are in for a true treat.

Ignore the fact that it looks and smells like a can Alpo, and fry that shits to a crisp.

Throw a few over-easy fried eggs on top (or poached if you suck at frying eggs), and enjoy. Just make absolutely sure the yolks are runny, otherwise you're missing the best part.

Thinking like a modified benedict of some sort, but either way it is happening tomorrow.

RG I'm thinking what you described on two english muffin halves. Extra crispy hash. May do a side of air fryer hash browns too, as they rule.

Can't wait. I've got a can as well. I want to see what you do.

Are you going to poach or fry?

Does the roast beef hash taste any different than corned beef hash? Don't think I've ever seen it before.
I usually only find this one

cs3, it's definitely a different taste, but you fry it up exactly the same. I buy both.

Unfortunately, I'm out of English Muffins, so I'm going to have to do mine on well-toasted white bread. What do you think about a little Herdez Hot Salsa?

in my amateur opinion the biggest difference between corned beef and roast beef is the salt level (corned = more salt).
RG - any additional ingredient like Herdez is completely fine as long as you let the initial ingredients brown in the pan and add afterwards. if you add beforehand you're just steaming things and not browning them because of the extra liquid.

I'll report back, but my supermarket has been OUT of the corned beef hash for like 3-4 weeks now. Not sure what is up, but they have had other weird shortages from rona too. Soup is a good example.

I bet the biggest difference will be that it is more brown slop than pink slop.

A+. I add some salt and pepper to the roast beef hash, nothing to the corned beef. The salsa would be a simple topping at the end. I've never done it, but found it in the pantry next to the hash, so, you know. Just thinkin'.

Haha, yeah I love hash but it's definitely a trip to max out your salt intake in one sitting. I'm always chugging water for the rest of the day.

Lol. it's about the flavor, not a label. I add pepper to the roast beef, but not the corned beef. Find that on the label.

You are in the wrong thread if that's your main concern.

I'm 57 and have never had corned or roasted beef hash. Am I really missing something?

Spoiler:
I love soft poached eggs or over easy eggs, FWIY.

From what I remember, it was compared to Alpo.

It is basically a hyper-processed beef product with some 1/4"x1/4" potato cubes added, and bathed in fat.

it’s another version of ‘potted meat food product’.
google that exact phrase and you’ll learn all you really need to know.
