Guys, today is a historical day for not one but two reasons!

It isn't just the 1st anniversary of BLACK FRIDAY of online poker but the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the TITANIC!

RMS Titanic was a passenger liner that sank in the North Atlantic Ocean on
15 April 1912 after colliding with an iceberg during her maiden voyage from Southampton, England to New York City. The sinking of Titanic caused the deaths of 1,514 people in one of the deadliest peacetime maritime disasters in history. She was the largest ship afloat at the time of her maiden voyage. One of three Olympic class ocean liners operated by the White Star Line, she was built between 1909–11 by the Harland and Wolff shipyard in Belfast, Ireland. She carried 2,223 people.

And it's awesome that people feel cool hating on the movie. It's really goddam good. And I'm guessing about 70% of the internet tough guys who post about how much they hate it, saw it and liked it and would see again.

I want the people getting all aghast about kids not realizing the Titanic was real to tell me when they were taught about it in school- I sure can't recall it. I was aware because it was a pop culture thing, but I can totally see how somebody who grew up more likely knowing the movie first would simply have never been exposed to the notion it was real event. I sure don't assume every romance set against some fancy backdrop was real, nor do I give it much thought at all.
