Is it bad that I don't use uber because they have surge pricing?

Granted, i never really use cabs. Easy for me to hold on to this ideal. Maybe the next time I'm in Vegas though, I'll have to re-evaluate. Unless I rent a car. Uber surge pricing vs. casinos charging for parking. I wonder which ideal will win.

This whole thing pisses me off.

This one time I took UberX and it turned out to be a 3 year old Corolla. I still have nightmares.

I'm not a frequent Uber user, but when I have it's always been UberX. Black is just nicer cars I take it?

Excellent on topic post amongst all this off topic Uber chatter.
WP, made me chuckle at your annoyance.

They both have distinct definitions. Maybe it's different in lolamerica.
Webster and Oxford dictionaries disagree with you. It's stupid, it should be as you said.

Mia: yeah, black is fancy black sedans like a town car service. Some cities also have a middle tier of nicer than uberx cars but not as nice as black, uber select.

Neil: I take uberx all the time and have taken it in a bunch of cities, never had a ****ty car.

Dom: it's a reasonable misconception based on their and lyft's initial marketing that you would think that. But you basically interact with uber drivers just like a cab driver, as much or little as you want. The default is to not really interact. A large number of uber drivers are just cab drivers who have switched over to uber.

Uber Black isn't cheaper than a cab. It's better.

UberX is cheaper, and you're taking much more of a gamble quality-wise.

I've never taken UberX and I don't plan to.
I have literally taken uberX 500 times and I have had exactly 1 ride that was poor quality.

When people use literally as a figure of speech instead of literally.

If you just had your literal 500th uber ride I apologize.

That you have to show your boarding pass to the flight crew as you enter the plane. I guess it shouldnt piss me off when they have to direct people to the correct alley.

Doesn't prevent some people to think my seat is theirs because they couldn't figure out which letter was which seat.

I foolishly doubted this and looked it up for myself. What is this lunacy? I guess a bicentennial happens every 50 years now.

Lots of non "ed" past tense verbs seem to be going away recently. I gives me the sads.

I get tilted every time I hear something like "the accused pleaded not guilty." WTF happened to the verb "pled?" Spell-check doesn't even recognize it anymore.

Maybe it's supposed to be pleaded when used in a legal sense, like your example. Kinda like how when hanging someone the past tense in that case is hanged and not hung.

I bet my neighbors think I'm beating my kids or something when I'm really just screaming at that stupid green button for putting me into full screen mode that you can't escape out of. "**** OFF. JUST DO WHAT I WANT!"

It's more that it reminded me of that thing that pisses me off, but you said literally 500 times, not literally over 500 times. /nit

My favorite example of this was on this site when someone claimed Amaya was literally ****ing us up the ass with some new policy.

I didn't say literally exactly 500 times, either. I have taken 500 ubers. True, accurate, literal statement.
